Aimee is holding onto life as she battles necrotizing fasciitis — we hope she’s able to pull through in her recovery.
Aimee Copeland has been fighting a rare flesh-eating disease, and doctors have revealed that her condition is now critical.
Aimee, 24, is fighting for her life at Augusta Hospital in Georgia, Reuters reports.
“All I can say is Aimee is still in critical condition,” spokeswoman Barclay Bishop revealed on May 19.
Aimee is suffering from necrotizing fasciitis, a rare bacterial infection that attacks a patient’s soft tissue. She developed it after a May 1 zip-line accident caused a large gash in her leg.
We wish Aimee and her family the best during this difficult time.
