Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Wins Rights To Mary Kennedy's Body Before Wake

Mary almost missed the wake because of two families feuding over the bodies — find out what happened.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has claimed the body of Mary Kennedy after she killed herself, but it almost came at the cost of her missing her own wake.

Robert, 58, claimed rights over the body to be buried near the Kennedy compound, after a court granted him the rights to the body, the New York Daily News reports.

There was a claim from her family to bring the body home with them and not have it buried near the Kennedys — what a tough situation.

We wish the family the best during this difficult time.

It’s understandable how her family would want rights over her body given RFK, Jr’s reckless abandonment of his ill wife, but the outcome was a no brainer – until a divorce is finalized, he’s still the spouse and has sole legal right over the decision.

There is so much help out there for mental illness. I can’t understand with such a large family why help was not found for her. How tragic for her children left behind to shoulder the hurt and grief of her suicide.

people’s lives don’t stop but it’s sure nice when your current husband doesn’t flaunt his current affair in your face in the midst of a divorce. He’s an idiot, regardless of how much fault is his and hers, both of them had kids and their lives are ruined cause their parents couldn’t get their acts together.

You don’t know who, if anyone, was to blame for the marital breakdown. Sometimes living with someone with mental illness can be dangerous – does Andrea Yates sound familiar? Joe may have been the one who filed for the divorce but we don’t know what might have lead up to it. People’s lives don’t stop – they have to keep going and sometimes moving on is the best thing. There is every chance that the kids would have been the one to find the body and yet Mary did it anyway. A loved one with severe mental illness is not an easy thing to deal with. People can mvoe on with their lives and still love the one they left behind. Whatever happened here, someone died. Let’s let the family grieve in peace.
