TLC's Shocking New Series 'Obese & Expecting' — Will You Watch?

TLC Obese and Expecting

A new documentary from TLC will document the perils of morbidly overweight mamas-to-be. Um, are you raising your eyebrows too?

TLC’s new reality show Obese & Expecting charts the emotional and physical struggles of four obese women who are trying to deliver. Will you watch the show?

The channel has made itself known for chronicling American families with shows that border on exploitative — there’s Sister Wives, Toddlers & Tiaras, 19 Kids and Counting, and a whole litany of other series that are totally interesting but definitely raise some questions of tact.

Are they just recycling the shock-value formula for ratings?

The hour-long Obese & Expecting preview will air May 17 at 9 p.m. Will YOU watch it, HollyMoms?

See the clip below, where Alissa Pena and her husband, William, discuss how her obesity lead to them separating:

I have just recently heard about the show and saw a few. I have been on both sides of these. I use to be 120 and now I am 300. Now for the ones on here being rud, I would not talk if you have not been in that situation and it is alot of factors that goes into people being overweight. Now be careful because what you say ” THAT COULD NOT BE ME, OR THAT WILL NEVER BE ME” in a blink of an eye it will be you.

I don’t need to watch to see what happens. Early birth due to complications and csections. Jeopardizing your baby’s health a growth development and time in the womb. The US has one of the highest csection rates in the world. Over use of interventions like pitocin, obesity, and treating birth like its a medical sickness are the main reasons. This show just encourages this counrty’s sad health statistics.

Some people might not like this type pf show but the rude comments are not needed. This is very useful to those are obese this lets them know they are not alone in the struggles that come with being obese and expecting. I watch this show and was very happy for these woman. At least they can get pregnant and enjoy their children.I myself am obese not extremely obese but I can’t have children. Obesity may be a serious problem but just like the other shows on all other kinds of people they deserve attention IF YOU DON”T LIKE IT DON”T WATCH IT.. Just like I turn the channel to sister wives and other stupid shows..

It’s a joke right?

This show looks like crap. Not only that, why is TLC giving these women that much attention? Obesity is a serious problem, stop giving these people excuses and get them on a diet! There is honestly NO reason why someone should ever get that big,
