It’s a female money war! J Lo will only return to ‘American Idol’ if her current $12 million salary is boosted above Britney’s, a source tells Hollywoodlife.com exclusively.
Jennifer Lopez is leaving us hanging about whether she’ll return to American Idol next season, but she could return if the show offers her more than the $15 million Britney Spears is getting for joining The X Factor, a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively!
“J LO and American Idol are striving for headlines, along with it being ‘strictly business,’ she is also for sure wanting more money than Britney Spears to return,” our source tell us, adding that J Lo is playing hardball because she can with always sign a one year contract.
Nigel Lythgoe, the show’s producer, and J Lo are “in the same boat with negotiations,” and will do everything they can to make it work.
“She is not signed for next year but nothing is better in Nigel’s eyes than people talking about American Idol and who the judges will be all summer. Look what it did with The X Factor!” the insider tells us.

Jennifer is not jealous like britney. this was what britney did for x-factor and wanted asked more that Jennifer . and x-factor regretted for the money that they paid for her.
but American Idol paid 21m for Jennifer and they asked her to stay for 3rd season but she didn’t because of her world tour and you saw that she was around the world for her tour till the show premiere , so she couldn’t be with them.
and now american idol knows that how much Jennifer and Steven leave hurt them.
and now its not even middle of the show and they are talking about nicki minaj leaving for next season.
