A massive manhunt is underway for a man accused of stabbing his new bride to death and leaving her in a bathtub just hours after their wedding.
Estrella Carrera was still in the sparkly cocktail dress she wore to her wedding celebration when her body was found by the police. Authorities are searching “all over the country” for Arnoldo Jimenez, charged with murdering his wife her just hours after their nuptials at Chicago City Hall.
“We are following every lead no matter where it takes us,” said Capt. Joseph Ford of the Burbank Police Department in a Huffington Post report. “We will not stop looking, and this will not go away.”
The search began after Estrella’s family asked the police to check on her well-being because she did not pick up her two-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter. When the police went to her apartment, they found her body in the bathtub with multiple stab wounds.
Arnoldo’s sister told the family that the couple had a “bad fight” and left the home with his wife bleeding. The couple have been in an on-and-off relationship for three years, and have a 2-year-old son. The captain said Arnoldo, 30, was previously arrested for domestic violence in another city that did not involve Estrella.
Arnoldo is now charged with first-degree murder.
Police are pleading with Jimenez to turn himself in “for the sake of his family and especially his children,” said Capt. Ford. “I am sure they are very concerned for his well-being.”
