Donna Summer sadly passed away on May 17 at the age of only 63 after a battle with lung cancer. The Studio 54 singer defined ’70s dance music with hits like “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls.” The disco queen’s death left behind a huge hole in the hearts of her friends and fans, who took to Twitter to express their grief and offer condolences.

I just found out 12 minutes.How very sad, indeed. I didn’t even know that she was ill.She was a lady and a half who could sing circles around all of these so called “divas”. She is with Jesus.Ms. Summer will be sorely missed.My condolences to her family.

I was shocked kinda when i heard this!! i have all her popular songs on my Ipod,first it was Etta James,Amy winehouse and others now this!!! WHY IS THE BEST PEOPLE DIEING THIS YEAR please stop dieing!! it’s not right :( my hearts broken
