Mother's Inspiring Video Of Son Born With Severe Cleft Palate & No Eyes — Watch

A Tennessee mom documented the struggles of raising a son who was born with a rare form of cleft palate that left him with no eyes.

In this remarkable seven minute YouTube video, Lacey Buchanan shares her struggles of raising her son Christian who was born with a very rare disease. (Can’t get enough emotional baby videos? Here’s another tearjerker for you too!)

In the YouTube video, Lacey holds up cards to tell us Christian’s inspiring story, from the excitement of getting pregnant, to the devastating news of his diagnosis.

Fighting back tears, the mom also shared her fears and the awful comments that followed after Christian was born. People would ask her, “What’s wrong with your kid?”

It’s a heart-wrenching must-watch. The best part? When she proudly holds up Christian, now 1, to the camera to reveal his adorable face!

Rabblerabble you are a human stain, and you know it. Christian has shined more light on people in his short year or so of life then you will ever be capable of. Who says that this little guy will not be able to care for himself? There doesn’t seem to be any deficits in his mental or emotional being. Have you ever heard of Helen Keller? Beethoven? Happy Mother’s Day, Lacey. You are a wonderful Mother for giving this life God created in you a chance to touch your life and the life of others. I had three very perfect babies-I was blessed. I would like to think that I would have welcomed a special child like Christian had God decided to bless me with one. You and your husband are in my prayers, as is baby Christian. I pray the Lord give you many years with him.

Dear Lacey: My daughter to was born 23 years ago this Monday with a Cleft Plate, doctors at that time told me that she only had 20% chance, well needless to say after 16 in ahalf hous of labor I wasnt about to accept that, finally after 2 months in the hospital and many hous of training they let her come home, 2 weeks later while feeding her threw a g-tube she stoped breathing when I pcked her up she was blue I graped her and siad o heck no your not leaving me now, long story shoert she required a trach so another two months in hospital, her cleft was repairied at 1 in half, trach removed 2 weeks later( as well as the g-tube) she is now 23 and outside of the scares in throat and ear infections, teeth she is beautiful, dont give up your child is headed as well as you for a bumppy ride but its worth it, stay strong and treasure every min with that beautiful little boy, bless you and I hope that my story helps give you strength.

You have been chosen to be the mom of a wonderful mircale, because God knew you could handle what may come your way and to hold Christian’s hand through the special purpose God has brought him into this world. I can comprehind exactly where you r coming from. My son, now 3 1/2 was born w/ cleft hands a month 1/2 premature. He was deaf at birth, then @ 3 mths. Dr.’s said he might be blind. I ALWAYS had FAITH that God had a plan & a purpose for him. Now at 3 1/2 years old…. He can hear & see….. But he does have problems with severe constipation and probably has Autism, but it sure is a better prognosis than when he was born. These children are GOD’S LITTLE MIRACLES :). And they are SO VERY RESILIENT & INNOCENT to Such a CRUEL WORLD. GOD tests our faith but NEVER gives us what we can’t handle. KEEP SMILING & LOVING THAT BABY BOY & Y’ALL WILL BE FINE.

i think this is a wonderful story of a mother’s love and dedication. but I can’t help but wonder who will take care of him when his mother is gone. That makes me sad :(

How could anyone laugh or call that baby ugly or even talk about a baby like that christan is a miracle god made him that way he is beautiful in his own way when i seen this video all i did was cry cause its really said how people could tell her to abort her baby thats her life not matter what happen to him i was so inspired by this video this is what you call a great mother. How could anyone check not really for being inspired? Really? This mother has definitely endured a lot of emotional pain from people who are cruel! I watched the video and was very inspired!! I was angry to read how adults could whisper behind her back or even ask what’s wrong with your baby.. Then when I get on here and see the percentage of those who weren’t inspired!! You all must be part of the cruel ones then because this lady is someone to look up to!!! She put her child first!!!
