While the suspect of the gruesome double murder-kidnap case remains at large, the wife of the fugitive reveals that the abduction of the young Bain sisters was his plan all along.
Teresa Mayes revealed that her husband’s murders of Jo Ann and Adrienne Bain were committed to aid the abduction of the younger sisters Alexandria and Kyliyah. Although footage of Adam Mayes turned up in surveillance video, police are still on a massive hunt to find the 35-year-old man charged with committing these horrific crimes.
According to the Daily Mail, Teresa admitted it was part of his plan to kidnap the youngest Bain daughters, who are 8 and 12.
Teresa told police she “watched him kill Jo Ann and Adrienne” on April 27 in a garage of the Bain’s home in Tennessee. Teresa is now charged of aggravated kidnapping after she admitted she drove her husband, the younger girls, and the lifeless bodies from Tennessee to their Mississippi family home.
Adam’s mother, Mary Mayes, 65, is also charged with four counts of conspiracy to commit especially aggravated kidnapping. According to police reports, she heard Adam digging graves outside her home but did not tell the authorities.
Adam remains at large but is believed to be with two daughters.
