Watch a preview of ‘Rock of Ages’ and find out what the real-life rockers of ‘Idol’ think about it!

American Idol viewers were treated to a sneak peek of Tom Cruise‘s upcoming jukebox musical Rock of Ages on May 9, and HollywoodLife.com was on the scene to get the Idol finalists’ thoughts on Tom’s career-turning role. Though Philip Phillips says he didn’t pick up any tips about stage presence from Tom’s Stacee Jaxx, he did admit it seems “like a good movie.”

Hollie Cavanagh, meanwhile, was a little more vocal with her excitement for the movie.

“From the clips that I’ve seen, [Tom Cruise] is good,” she told us. “I didn’t know that he could sing like that. I honestly didn’t.”

Neither did we!
