Some people may be so quick to say K-Stew missed the mark on the red carpet last night, but I thought she looked fantastic — in fact, it was way better than her gown from last year’s gala!
Let’s face it, if Kristen Stewart could have walked the red carpet at the 2012 Met Gala in a pair of jeans and her Converse sneakers she probably would have. While she isn’t necessarily the biggest fashionista, she does have a distinct sense of style, which is very edgy yet chic — and that’s exactly what she showed off on the red carpet last night. While most young stars play it safe in flouncy feminine frocks, K-Stew isn’t scared to push the envelope.
Last year Kristen opted for an interesting, printed red and black Proenza Schouler gown. Once again, she didn’t play it safe — and while it wasn’t widely well-received, it didn’t stop her for turning up in something interesting at the 2012 Met Ball!
Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of the Proenza gown on the star — I didn’t think it did anything for her figure! This year, however, I was totally blown away by her Balenciaga frock from the Fall 2012 collection! As the face of the brand’s new fragrance, she did a fantastic time representing the fashion house in her strapless, color-blocked dress — I couldn’t imagine the dress on anyone else after seeing it on the star.
The dress is quite busy and while another star could’ve gotten lost in the look, K-Stew totally owned it. Sure, it wouldn’t have killed her to crack a smile at the glam gala, but regardless, she owned it. The silhouette allowed K-Stew to flaunt her figure while her confidence seeped through.
In a sea of sexy, shimmering gowns her colorful, strapless dress totally stood out. It was refreshing and sexy — perfect for the young star. Once again, she wasn’t afraid to take a chance — and I applaud that!
