Ladies-man Rob is letting romance fall by the wayside and showing off his tough-guy persona in an exciting new role.
Robert Pattinson is already loved by the ladies, but now he’s gunning to win over the male audience as well. The Twilight actor is set to star in the big-screen adaptation of the Eric Maddox novel that tells the story of the man who who helped capture Saddam Hussein in 2003.
“This is a chance for Rob to prove that he can be a leading man outside of a female demographic,” casting director Doron Ofir EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. “If Rob can win over a male audience, he can start being viewed not only as a heartthrob for women, but a man’s man.”
If Rob plays his cards right, Doron thinks Rob could follow in the footsteps of another heartthrob-turned-action hero: Brad Pitt!
“Brad Pitt is the ultimate man’s man,” Doron explains. “Every man wants to be him. In the past, only women went to see Rob in films. Mission: Blacklist will definitely attract a male audience, and of course, a female audience.”
Tom Cruise is another actor that took on an action role to alter his fan-base.
“Prior to Born on Fourth of July, Tom was known as a pretty boy,” Doron points out. “Oliver Stone took a big risk when he cast Tom in the lead role, but Tom proved he could be a man’s man in the film and it was a pivotal role in his career.”
Hopefully, Mission: Blacklist will have a similar effect on Rob’s career.
“If he can gain a male following, this could lead to blockbuster films for him,” Doron says. “It could lead to Oscar winning roles. It’s a smart, smart career choice. Now let’s see if he can pull it off!”

that is the problem we have today.before peoples years of achievement is counted before their dollars or fame.and when you take a look , you will see that they actually deserve their money and fame.robert is good but ,for me i will actually wait for more years to see what he leaves behind before we can place him by the side of tom cruise or other actors like brad .i agree with you lon..—– accomplishment is what it is all about.there is nothing about hate on this one.we like rob ,but we are also trying to be honest about him.
