We’d really love a girl to win American Idol this season, but it’s going to be tough if they keep getting voted off! Tonight best friends Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine were in the bottom two…

…leaving Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez safe for another week.

Shockingly, Skylar was eliminated, which had her BFFs, Josh and Hollie, in tears.

My heart breaks for the ones that get voted off so close to the end. But all know its a possibilty when its crunch time. They are all very worthy in my opinion.

Jessica or Phillip should have gone. Skylar is great. Hope she will continue her career – she definitely helped grow a country rock audience. Not only Joshua is bringing back a genre.

Well here we go again. This IS a singing competition. You would suspect that the person with the better voice (range, control and stage presence) would win. However, having said that I think back to previous seasons. The winners for any given season have not done well. It seems that the runner-up usually has a longer career than the winner.
Given the tone deafness of the average american they usually vote for who they like rather than whom is the better vocalist.
My guess (for what it is worth)…Hollie will go home next week, then Jessica and Phil will probably win although he is the least talented of the remaining 4.

I think Elise Testone, Colton Dixon and Jessica Sanchez deserve to be in the final because they can sing variety of songs and nice to listen on Radio. I dont understand why Joshua is still there. He is a good singer but very shouty and he does not sound nice on radio or CD…ur guys tried and listen to it if u dont believe me. Philip Philips sound better in CD though…well this is just an opinion…

I am not surprised at last nights events. Joshua will probably win with Jennifer second. Love Hollie and she may be a factor, but Phillip seems immature and downright silly most of the time–he is my least favorite–I thought he would go last night. I just can’t see anyone in the top two except Josh & Jen–they both seem to sing the most powerful songs when it counts the most–rising to the occasion.

Ugh! All dis comments make me sick. Yo peeps, these contestants didn’t ever say they was perfect; they all have their strengths & weaknesses, now don’t go using it against em, its all wrong. The most shocking elimination for me still remains Colton Dixon, I literally cried(he is so good). Whoever wins does not win because he deserved it, but because he or she was preferred.

Skylar does not have a general appeal for many people who like music – her enuciation is frequently poor and her voice is often shrill. Yes she has a lot of good energy but as a vocalist she lacks a great deal. I’m much happier with the remaining fouir.

OMG Skylar?????? I love all of them, but I think Hollie should have went home. She’s amazing but compared to the other four, I think she’s the weakest. But I still love her.

Oh my! Ok I knew america would not let another country singer win, but I don’t feel skylar should of went home. Hollie has ben doing well these last few weeks, and has recently got a standing oviation. I do feel that phillip phillips has been lacking a lot lately he should of been at the bottom 2night, also jessica well she did an awesome job on her 2nd song the first one was horrible and yes her dress was way too tight and short for a 16 year old girl! She looked like a teen slut! Just my opinion.

Jessica should go home. This is a singing competition, not yelling competition. Also, she should go be an actress instead because she is so fake. She act as if she is so touched whenever judges gave her the compliments and acted so sad when someone is going home.
