Junior was found dead in his home on May 2, and police believe he shot himself.
NFL superstar Junior Seau was found dead in his Oceanside, Calif. home on May 2. Police believe the 43-year-old father of three shot himself.
Law enforcement officials are currently at Junior’s home in San Diego County — and were seen talking with a man who was inside the house and appeared distraught, TMZ reports.
Junior reportedly send text messages to his ex-wife and three kids yesterday saying, “Love you,” but no one suspected that anything was wrong. Sources close to the NFL legend hadn’t noticed any signs of depression in recent weeks.
However, this isn’t the first time Junior has been suspected of attempting suicide. In 2010, Junior drove his SUV off a cliff in Carlsbad, Calif. hours after he was arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend. He later said that he was not trying to kill himself and insisted that he had fallen asleep at the wheel.
Throughout his 20-year NFL career, Junior played for the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.
