A source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively Nick Lachey sent his ex-wife Jessica Simpson a basket of cookies to celebrate the birth of her baby girl! Isn’t that sweet?

Lots of exes hate each other, but there doesn’t seem to be any ill will between Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. In fact, he (along with his wife, Vanessa Lachey) sent Jessica and her fiance, Eric Johnson, a big basket of gourmet cookies today celebrating Maxwell Drew‘s birth.

“A large basket of pink and white cookies were delivered to Jessica’s hospital room at Cedars-Sinai earlier from Nick and Vanessa,” a source tells us exclusively. “The basket was delivered by Cookies By Design and included seven huge cookies with adorable baby girl decorations.”

Nick and Jessica were married for three years and divorced in 2005. They’ve since moved on with other partners; Nick is married to Vanessa, who’s expecting their first child later this year. Jessica and Eric have yet to set a wedding date, but just had their first baby May 1.

Yes, cookies are the best gift! My sister swore to me when she gave birth to my niece that cookies was what she ordered. So when I had my baby after her, she brought me cookies! Hospital doesnt provide cookies and having something sweet with tea or milk was a treat after giving birth.

Yes cookies are the best gifts for a new mom! My sister who had her first baby bought me cookies and bragged about that was the only gift in the room that she really wanted when she had my niece. She made someone run to the store for cookies! Hospitals don’t have them and flowers you can only look at them for awhile.

Eric Johnson is not playing pro football and made little money bc he wasn’t a good commodity and got no contract. He was dating Jess when still married/separated. News said he has less than a million dollars to his name. Jess said she doesn’t mind supporting him bc she just making over a billion dollars with her fashion lines.
