This episode was exactly what we (Chair fans) needed. It just felt so right having Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) reverting back to the old scheming days — heck, they even got Dorota in on the action!
As we saw from last week’s episode, Chuck needed Blair’s help after he found out that Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) wasn’t really his mom. And after finding an old photograph of his Uncle Jack Bass and his real mom Elizabeth, he suspected Jack was actually his father — more on that later though. So to find out what Diana was really up to, he needed Blair’s help to crack the code — the code that was literally Diana Payne’s day planner.
Blair — being the pro she is — busted out her cipher and got down to business and together her and Chuck found out what the numbers in Diana’s planner meant. But what Diana’s day lead them to find went beyond Chuck’s wildest imagination…
And here are my ‘OMG’ moments:
#1 Bart Bass is ALIVE!
Yes, you are reading this correctly. Chuck’s father is not dead — he’s alive! Chuck and Blair ended up at an upscale sex club where Diana was spending her evening with Jack Bass — and where the real Gossip Girl was thought to be. But when Blair saw Jack she looked like she’d seen a ghost! And that ghost was BART BASS! Obviously Blair has known that Bart is alive for some time now. So why has she never told Chuck? Of course, this isn’t anything we need to worry about now because Chuck knows.
#2 Dan Tells Blair ‘I Love You’
But she didn’t say it back! Blair was the first to tell Chuck when they were dating those three little words, so does this mean doesn’t feel the same way about Dan? Hmm!
#3 Dan Turns Down A Fellowship In Rome
Dan was asked by one of the most prestigious writing programs in the world to go on a retreat in Rome for the summer and he said NO because of Blair! And the worst part is he didn’t tell her that he said no because of her! He lied to her and said it was because the program decided to go with another candidate. Dan in love makes me want to vomit.
#4 The Real Gossip Girl Is Back
Nate (Chace Crawford) and Lola set up Serena (Blake Lively) forcing to hand over the reins as Gossip Girl once and for all. It’s good to have the real one back, that’s for sure!
With only two more episodes to go, it will be interesting to see what happens now!
