K-Stew is having a Jackie O. moment on the June cover of Elle UK! Here’s how you can get her retro look!
Kristen Stewart, 22, looked seriously sophisticated in a 60s-era bouffant and pastel makeup for her cover shoot. The ‘do takes you from girlie to grownup in an instant and the makeup is pretty for every day. If you dig Kstew’s retro vibe, you can copy it with a few tricks.
Her coif is the key to the overall Jackie O. feel. And to get it, you need mile-high hair. Blow dry wet hair using a large round brush. Go section by section, blowing hair away from your face and curling ends under.
Use a set of hot rollers like John Frieda Volume & Curl Body Boost Hair Setters to take your volume over the top. These heat up in just 2 minutes. Roll your front strands around a curler away from your face. Use the accompanying clips to secure. Repeat around your whole head. Leave the curlers in your hair while you do your makeup for about 15 to 20 minutes. Take curlers out and backcomb the front strands. Spray a strong hold hairspray like L’Oréal Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray to keep the style in place and then brush through lightly to get the front straight back.
Kristen’s makeup combines pale pink lipgloss, flushed cheeks and heavily lined top lids, which can be achieved with a black liquid eyeliner.
