Ian calls the role of Christian Grey a ‘phenomenal opportunity,’ and I fully support that.
If you think about it, The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder is a lot like Christian Grey, the titular character in E L James‘ glorified erotica Fifty Shades of Grey. Ian may not share Christian’s tragic back story, but they’re both young, charitable and smolder-y — and Ian sees the similarities too! “I absolutely would be up for that,” Ian told Ryan Seacrest on April 23 when asked if he was in the running to play Christian on the big screen. “It could be amazing.”
Ian revealed that, along with saving the planet, he’s been getting frisky with books recently — and Fifty Shades of Grey is at the top of his summer reading list.
“I just started reading it,” he revealed. “I think that would be a pretty incredible thing. Hopefully, that would pan out. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, that would be a phenomenal opportunity.”

I would love to see Ian get a big movie role for a change. He is so damn sexy for the role, plus the guy can make you feel just with the emotions in his face alone.
But I’m sure the role will go to Rob because it’s the same old, same old in Hollywood. Let’s pick from this one dozen actors. It’s all getting very expected and boring.
