Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart: Forbidden To Be Together In Public

Rob was noticeably absent from the star-studded party Kristen attended last weekend, but it wasn’t because he didn’t want to be there! HollywoodLife.com can tell you EXCLUSIVELY the real reason he was MIA.

It was weird to see Kristen Stewart, 22, hit the red carpet solo for the world premiere of Paul McCartney‘s new music video, “My Valentine,” on April 13, and we couldn’t help but wonder why her boyfriend Rob didn’t go as her date — but now we know why!

Robert Pattinson, 25, skipped the party for two reasons, an insider tells HollywoodLife.com — and neither of them hint at trouble in their relationship. Phew!

“One was he didn’t want to make it the Kristen and Rob show and take away from the actual event,” our source says. “And they also have a clause in their Twilight contracts that they can only appear together at a Twilight themed red carpet together. Twilight kind of owns some of their appearances they do together until Breaking Dawn is 100% completed.”

It’s too bad work is keeping the couple from going out together, but we totally understand! And it’s great that they respect Paul McCartney enough to keep from stealing his glory at the huge premiere.

It won’t be nice when YOU realize that Rob and Kristen are still together and going strong. How did you come up with Kristen seems to be into women? wasn’t that long ago when a certain ‘couple’ from another
tween/teen franchise were attached at the hip and were
always together…then after the franchise ended,so did they
….high school musical!!
and yes,it seems that they have been seen together a lot lately.and besides,it’s kinda odd that they are walking the red carpet together on the one movie that lionsgate owns,but
nothing about cosmopolis…
besides the announcements for cannes are for the 19th!!!
but by all means,keep arguing and fighting amongst each other.it just makes people think you all are even crazier than they thought.

That’s not true. Zac and Vanessa were together for FIVE years. The HSM franchise was only three years. Their love was obviously real as is Kristen’s and Rob’s. It’s not like either of the couple’s flaunt it for the media. Just as Zac and Vanessa were, Rob and Kristen are private about almost everything and there’s obvious chemistry.

If this “contract” is true, it confirms the PR allegation. As actors playing lovers on film, it shouldn’t matter if they see other people off-screen. It would simply shows they are skilled in their craft, to be able to convey the love story believeably. For Summit to put a condition in a contract (if true) it shows the studio never really had faith in these actors in their abilities. The powers that be at Summit would be thinking the only way we’ll get butts in the seats is to have everyone believe the two leads are dating in real life. By doing so, it plays into the meme, right or wrong, that Pattinson, Stewart (and to an extent Lautner) are mediocre actors. This has done a disservice to them, and all eyes are on 2013, when the saga finally wraps up, to see if they can deliever the goods (read: bring critical acclaim and/or commercial success) to a non-Twilight movie. Stewart is under the gun for SWATH. Her Snow White will be compared to Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss. If there’s even a hint of Bella coming out of SW (believe me the critics will be on the lookout), she’s going to get hit hard. What I’m basically saying showmances are never helpful in the end. The public gets mad at the studio for playing it for stupid, and the actors are tagged with an unflattering perception that is hard to shake.

Still spewing your bs I see. There is no contract. Gossip Cop has talked to a rep and the pr contract was debunked. Kristen’s career is great and SWATH is going to kick azz. There was a press screening today for OTR and Kristen is being praised. The rumor she is only in a little bit of the movie was also false. Obviously Rob and Kristen must not understand what a pr showmance is, given the fact that they keep their relationship private and out of the press. They are the real deal and you know it.

Because it would mean the only time they could be seen together in that capacity would be at a Summit/Lionsgate event. Which would mean they would only be promoting their events. I think this story is horses**t, but stop telling people to grow up when you don’t understand what they are saying.

They have appeared at non Twilight events before!
What about the Water for Elephants red carpet event in NYC? She didn’t walk the carpet with him, but they were walking around afterwards together.
What about all the concerts they go to to support their mutual friend Marcus?
What about Scout’s birthday party you all wrote about, and even had the photo of Kristen draping her arms over Rob’s shoulders?
I think that whole contract thing is a thing non fans started a long time ago.
WHY NOT WRITE ABOUT THE EVENT HE WAS AT THE SAME NIGHT SHE WAS AT THE “MY VALENTINE” EVENT?!?! HE HAD TO BE SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT NIGHT!

This article is BS. Whether or not they will appear at Cannes together remains to be seen, but it is not dictated by Summit (Lionsgate). This is the only claim left for the NS and while it is lame and has been proven wrong, it is still fought for because they have no other angle. HL is simply trying to feed the frenzy and keep arguments going. Much ado about nothing.

This is so much crap! Does anyone honestly believe Kristen or Rob would allow anyone to dictate to them about being with each other. How stupid is this story! I don’t know them, but they seem to be level headed people who basically beat to their own drum. If they don’t want to walk, talk or acknowledge their relationship on the red carpet or public events, so be it! Let’s leave them alone and stop talking about this issue. And secondly, Kristen doesn’t have to show up with Rob, or Rob doesn’t have to show up with Kristen…all the time. It’s their decision only when they walk the red carpet together :)

After so much time has gone by, and we’re nearing the end of Twilight, you’d think the idiots at Summit would ease up a little. I would not like the feeling of being owned. Actually this confirms that they’re not a PR couple. If they were a PR couple they would have to be seen out together everywhere not the opposite. They’re definitly the real deal. That clause may have been put in their contracts to keep them from dating. Maybe Catherine Hardwick had it put into their contracts. It’s common knowledge she never wanted Rob to date Kristen. I have no doubt they’ve had to go through a lot just to be able to be together. Love is always worth it. Trust me, my hubby and I know.

But if you say that there is a clause in their contract that keeps them from being on the red carpet together for anything other than Twilight, then it wouldn’t be so far fetched to accept that there might be clauses that force them to be seen together for the purpose of promoting their characters. That’s why it looks like PR.

OMG are you serious? Yes it is far fetched. No celebrities would sign away 4 yrs of their lives. This is not the 1950s where studios controlled their entire lives. Name any other 2 celebrities in Hollywood you think are doing this too? If this is the norm it wouldn’t just be them.

There have been photos snapped of them on personal time holding hands on planes, at a wedding when they didn’t know they were being watched, at a birthday party. Seriously give up the dream. They are together. They may not be for the rest of their lives but as of today they are a couple. With acceptance comes peace.

Sorry nonsten, WRONG again. Rob and Kristen are very much a couple (they live together, duh) and your latest desperate attempt to prove otherwise FAILED!. There is no clause in their contract about walking the Red Carpet, and the only clause in Rob’s, was that he would not act on his obvious attraction to Kristen who was 17 when Twilight was being filmed. If that clause in their Twilight contracts is real then it explains quite a lot. Whenever they do go to events by themselves they never seem to stay long. When they take pictures with fans it’s never together. Makes perfect sense now. Well hopefully this means after BD part 2 comes out we’ll see a new side to their relationship. More so they’ll have more freedom to do what they want.
