One Direction’s Harry Styles: Why He Loves Older Women

One Direction‘s Harry Styles is clearly a ladies man, with an emphasis on “ladies” over “girls”! Earlier this year, the 19-year-old pop star was linked to 32-year-old British TV host Caroline Flack, and just last week, Harry got caught hitting on former Bachelorette, Jillian Harris, also 32!

While dating an older woman clearly has its advantages, including life experience and maturity, an expert EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com that Harry’s preference could stem from his childhood. Harry’s parents divorced when he was just seven years old and his mother remarried soon after.

“When things got rearranged in young Harry’s life, he would have had fears of being abandoned by his mom, or at least being loved less than she loved his new stepfather,” said Carole Lieberman, psychiatrist and author of Bad Girls: Why Men Love Them & How Good Girls Can Learn Their Secrets.

Even though Harry’s mom, Anne Cox, has always remained his number one fan, Dr. Lieberman believes Harry looks to an older woman for comfort, as his mother did in the past. “Unconsciously, Harry is looking for an older woman who will adore him, like his mom to soothe his old fears and insecurities,” she says.

Harry’s bandmates agree! Harry and Zayn Malik are asked about their penchant for older women in a recent video interview, and Zayn admits, “That’s more so Harry. He likes an older woman.”

And who can blame them!

If he is attracted to and wants to be with older women because of fear of abandonment, that seems to be a psychological issue, doesn’t it? Are there any young women his own age that he’s had a serious relationship with? Right now it looks like he may be back with that 33 year old Flack woman again, and he’s been with other women in their 30s. A pattern of seeking a relationship with a much older woman–it seems like the guy wouldn’t be looking for an equal, sharing relationship, but someone to take charge, baby him etc. and what if she didn’t fulfill her “role” as the mother figure?

I would totally love to date Harry. That would be a dream come true. He is so cute, adorable, handsome and totally awesome. He seems do caring and understanding too. But alas he wouldn’t date me anyway cause not that good looking and overweight from having kids.But a girl could dream though.
