Taking public transportation, using less energy and conserving water are all great ways to celebrate Earth Day. But this April 22, don’t forget to toast the health of our planet by whipping up one of these festive cocktails!
Earth Day is right around the corner! To celebrate the 42nd anniversary, HollywoodLife.com put together a list of eco-friendly cocktails featuring all-natural ingredients that are good for the earth… and also the body!
Local Harvest
Ingredients:
2 Parts American Harvest Organic Spirit
3 lime wedges
3 basil leaves
3 cucumber slices
1/4 part organic agave nectar
Directions:
Muddle limes, basil and cucumber with agave, then add American Harvest. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a basil leaf, a lime slice and a cucumber slice.
Sustainable Seabreeze
Ingredients:
2 parts American Harvest Organic Spirit
1 1/2 parts fresh squeezed orange juice
1 part R.W. Knudsen’s Just Cranberry juice
1/2 parts agave nectar
Directions:
Combine ingredients and garnish with an orange slice.
Eco Fizz
Ingredients:
2 parts Thatcher’s Blood Orange Organic Liqueur
3/4 parts fresh squeezed lemon juice
Directions:
Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with 2 parts Gekkeikan Zipang Sparkling Sake and garnish with a lemon twist.
Nature’s Honey Orchard
Ingredients:
2 parts Barenjager Honey and Bourbon
3 parts Organic Apple Cider
Directions:
Shake well with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.
A Pure Twist
Ingredients:
1 1/2 parts Michael Collins Blend
1 part FAIR Coffee Liqueur
2 parts cold coffee
1/2 parts milk
Directions:
Shake well with ice and strain into a tall glass.
The Fruit of the Hunter
Ingredients:
2 parts of Jägermeister
4 raspberries
4 strawberries
1 orange slice
1/2 part of simple syrup
1/2 part of lemon juice
Directions:
Shake well with ice and strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a mint sprig.
The Last Straw (served at GILT at the New York Palace Hotel)
Ingredients:
2 parts vodka
3 strawberries
1/2 part lemonade
1/2 part soda
Directions:
Muddle strawberries, add vodka, splash soda and top with lemonade. Serve in highball glass.
The Organictini (served at The Vinatta Project in NYC)
Ingredients:
2 parts Titos vodka
1/4 fresh cut and muddled prickly pear
1 part lime juice
1/4 part organic honey
2 dashes Bar Keep Organic Baked Apple Bitters
Directions:
Muddle fruit, then add spirits and juices. Shake and strain into a martini glass.
