'Gossip Girl' Recap: Chuck's Mother Revealed, Plus 4 More 'OMG' Moments

Mon, April 16, 2012 9:41pm EDT by 8 Comments

Chuck finally finds out who his mom is, Blair and Dan’s worlds collide, Lola leaves the UES all on the April 16 episode of ‘Gossip Girl’!

Poor Chuck! The mother he’s been searching for all along has been right in front of him!

I have to be honest, I’m glad Chuck (Ed Westwick) has found his mom, but I just can’t believe who it is. Drum roll please …

The conniving, evil and insensitive Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley). Eek! A part of me is not surprised, but it all does make sense. Both Diana and Chuck have evil tendencies and can’t control who they sleep with — it’s really all coming together now. With that being said, it will be interesting to see how Chuck reacts to this, but I’m concerned about Gossip Girl’s final text to Diana, saying “that’s not the secret I was talking about.” What other secrets could Diana possibly be hiding? I can’t even imagine.

But what the most disappointing part of the night was Blair’s reaction. She totally didn’t even acknowledge Chuck’s important discovery. #Sigh

And here are more ‘OMG’ moments:

#1 Lola leaves the UES
Lola learned her lesson the tough old UES way: start a lot of drama, upset the Constance clan and then leave. Lola was on a mission to out Serena as Gossip Girl when she overheard Diana confess she was Chuck’s mom. She sent the blast and ended up ruining Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair’s (Leighton Meester). Nate (Chace Crawford) was understandably mad at Lola and then broke up with her.

#2 Serena Is Still Gossip Girl

Even though Lola sent the blast from Serena’s phone, she managed to not spill that Gossip Girl is in fact Serena. I think that was a wise choice. The big question though is WHEN is the real Gossip Girl going to come back?

#3 Rufus And Lily Are On The Rocks

Could Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus be heading towards a permanent relationship vacation? It seems likely. Start stocking up on your tissues!

#4 Ivy Dickens Is Still In The UES

Apparently Rufus (Matthew Settle) has been paying for her to stay in NYC which is why Lily is mad at him.

Overall, the most shocking moment was revelation of Chuck’s mom.

I had a feeling Diana was Chucks mother from the beginning of the season.
And anyone who ships Dair as endgame are crazy

Dan and Blair will always be the one true couple on Gossip Girl and they are the perfect endgame couple so deal with it

Everything about this episode was ew. Dan and blair= ew. Diana being Chuck’s Mom=ew. Just EWWW! This show is actually so boring now. There is no reason to keep watching it without Chuck and Blair. They are the heart of the show and what keep it interesting. It seems like Blair doesn’t even care about him anymore. Please just bring them back together! I am slowly giving up hope on this show and that’s not good.

I totally agree with you. I think an interesting twist would be pairing Serena & Chuck. I know you would rather see Chuck with Blair, but hey, wouldn’t that be interesting? Not gross like B with Dan. And Dan, get a freaking haircut!

NO NO NONONONO LOOL NOOOO Chuck and Serena Are legally brother and sister and their actual step siblings they have a brother and sister relationship. Them being together, now that= SUPER EWWWWWWWWWWWWW

NEVER NO WAY if that actually happens then EVERYONE will tune out no one will watch that is just gross. With the whole Ban thing gonging on and if Chuck and Serena were to ever be in a relationship that would be the last straw for me.

To be honest, I think the whole story is getting pretty boring. The couple that gives live to this story is no longer together and apparently the writers are not in a rush to bring them back together. Not a smart move from their side. They are loosing fans, all CHAIR fan want them back!
