Your boyfriend Liam Hemsworth’s big brother Chris was totally out of line when he talked about your relationship at ‘The Avengers’ premiere. HollywoodLifers, do you agree with me?
Okay, I might be a bit sensitive, but if I were Miley Cyrus, I’d be fuming! In case you need a quick refresher, Chris Hemsworth talked to E! at the LA premiere of his new film, The Avengers, April 11 and when he was asked point blank by E! if his little brother Liam Hemsworth, 22, and Miley, 19, are indeed getting engaged, he scoffed and said, “NO!”
What really got my back up was when Chris said they were too young: “They’re like 21 or something. I can’t see that happening. You have to ask him about his relationship.”
Alright, I realize they are young by most people’s standards, but they’ve been dating for three years! They are both mature and working young adults who spend every single second of their lives together — this is not some casual romance. So why is getting engaged so out of the question?
I’m from the south, just like Miley, and people definitely start thinking about marriage earlier with a southern upbringing. Plus, I know plenty of people who got married young and lasted a lifetime. My grandmother was 19 when she married my grandfather and they were married for more than 50 years. Don’t give me “it was a different time then” song and dance because it wasn’t centuries ago — love is love.
When you find someone special, I say carpe diem. But let me say this, I’m not so jaded by romance that I don’t understand that marriage takes careful planning and thought. I definitely know people who got married in their early twenties and it ended in divorce — and no one wants that!
However, if I were Miley, I’d tell Chris to butt out. I’d have my feelings hurt if my guy’s brother said that — especially so publicly!

Chris is Liam’s brother, that’s his opinion. I’m also an elder sibling and if my sister came with that idea I would honestly smirk or snort. You can’t help that reaction. We’re not in the 18th century were it was common to marry at such a young age XD
