HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVE details about whether Melissa’s injury will sideline her from taking the stage ever again!
Melissa, 47, took to Twitter on April 10 to write, “I’m alright. Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of.”
But will she be able to dance again on the April 16 episode? “Presuming the concussion and whiplash are indeed mild, then her symptoms can last for a few days or a couple of weeks, ” says NYC general practitioner Dr. Ronald Minutoli. “Treatment for concussions is rest and for whiplash is anti-inflammatory medicine, muscle relaxers and ice. If Melissa really takes care of her injuries for the first few days, then she should be able to start rehearsing again.”
Dr. Minutoli says Melissa shouldn’t have to worry about getting a second concussion — which can be much more dangerous. “Head injuries while dancing are so rare, she probably isn’t taking a risk in dancing again.”
So good news Melissa, if in fact your concussion is mild!
We hope we’ll be seeing you on DWTS next week!
