Blair once again refuses to acknowledge a good thing when it comes along. Why is it so difficult for her to realize that Chuck is different now? He’s a changed man for crying out loud!
I shamelessly admit that when Dan (Penn Badgley) took Blair (Leighton Meester) to the steps of the Met on the April 9 episode of Gossip Girl to fulfill her dream of being a princess– it was pretty darn cute. During that moment in time, for one tiny second, I thought Dan and Blair are kind of cute together.
But it didn’t take long before I quickly snapped back to reality and came to my senses. Blair wouldn’t have even had the chance to kiss Dan on the steps of the Met if it weren’t for CHUCK (Ed Westwick)!
So while Dan’s gesture was cute, charming or whatever you want to call it — Chuck’s gesture of paying Blair’s dowry was far more meaningful. So where was Chuck’s kiss on the steps of the Met, Blair? Or for the very least — where was his “thank you”?
Instead of being appreciative, Blair got mad at Chuck and accused him of pay her dowry from Prince Louis (Hugo Becker) to win her heart back, but that wasn’t the case — at all. Like Chuck said, he just wanted Blair to be free from the evil prince. He didn’t have any ulterior motives behind paying her dowry.
WHY is it SO difficult for Blair to realize that Chuck isn’t the same scheming man he was at Constance? Especially considering that Blair hasn’t always been an angel herself.
Blair used to be quite devious back in her Constance days. With that being said, you would think Blair would be totally understanding and believe Chuck when he says he’s a changed man. Right?
Blair really needs to shape up and accept Chuck for who he is now: a changed, good-hearted man. He really is just looking out for Blair’s best interest.
Blair may not be in love with Chuck at the moment, (I’m convinced this is just a phase for B) but the least she could do is thank him for freeing her and lend him a helping hand when he needs it — like he did last night.

Chuck has changed and only wants Blair to be happy. Right now all Dan cares about is just having Blair and if you think that Blair is happy right now than you are just as wrong and in denial as Dan and Blair are bc Blair still loves Chuck and won’t be happy until they are back together.

Good grief, it almost looks like Bobble-head Chuck!
Blair has to be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder caused from the accident and loss of her baby, which was also likely reinforced by marrying Prince what’s his nuts! She’s a mental mess right now and needs to snap out of it so she can be with her real soul mate: CHUCK!!!
And Dair fans are in for a rude awakening because there is 0 chemistry between Dan and Blair…. never was, never will be!
They will find their way back to each other when the time is right, and they both know that, as do most Gossip Girl fans!

So Chuck deserves Blair more b/c he had the money to pay off the dowry that he was responsible for kicking in with the marriage contract b/c he was so jealous of Dan/Blair? She specifically asked him NOT to do it when she ran off after her wedding yet he ended up doing it anyway. I thought what Dan did just went to show that all the money in the world can’t buy happiness. Sometimes, it’s the little things and gestures that make you really happy.

I hope Blair stops acting like such a zombie soon. She seems to be placating Dan, alienating her best friend and keeping the love of her life at arms length, and I’m not sure why. Dan is basically a boring phase of some kind for Blair. Everyone knows Chuck and Blair will end up together and I can’t wait for their reunion.

Wait a second. If anyone manipulated Blair into marrying Louis it was DAN when he wrote those vows and didn’t tell her he wrote them.
How did Chuck trap her into marrying Louis? By respecting her wishes when she asked him to? By stopping the Priest from ruining the wedding? LOL I think YOU are the one that needs to start watching the show a little closer. Like maybe take off your shipper goggles first perhaps?

That’s its, Humdrum Humphrey sent in that video of Chuck and Blair which trapped Blair in a loveless marriage which she had to pay a dowry to get out of. He also let Chuck and Serena take the blame, because he is selfish and wanted Blair all to him self.
He didn’t even apologize for practically ruining her whole families life and somehow Chuck is all to blame.

Wow some of the hypocrisy in these replies is astounding. Pot meet kettle, much?
I love Chuck and Blair, plain and simple, but until REAL Blair returns, the one that was loyal to her friends, and didn’t act like a complete nut-job all the time, she can stay with Dan. She’s pod right now. “Claire” if you will.
I want FIERCE Blair Waldorf back. She is such a sad shadow of her former self, and Dan is a bit ridiculous feeding into her fairy tale delusions.
In any case, Chuck is the man. Best part of the whole show. I hope Blair gets her stuff together and comes to her senses.
And, btw, I voted NO in the poll. Chuck would never buy Blair some cheap prom dress, $2.00 crown from Claire’s, and have her parade around the Met steps. Seriously, girl. Grow the hell up.

Lol just a few episodes ago Chuck was sleeping with Dan’s agent in order to ruin his chances at publishing a second book because he knew that Blair was into him. Dan didn’t know that kissing Blair carried that risk. He only found out AFTER he kissed her from Georgina. Chuck knew full well what would happen, he was there when Sophie listed the conditions. He was only surprised at the high cost and that it would bankrupt the Waldorfs, not the fact that it had to be paid. Chuck was the one in the wrong, sorry.

Few episodes back Chuck was ready to move on(5×06) but Blair dragged him again into her life.
Few episodes ago Blair knew that there was chance her family to be bankrupted and what Blair and Dan did? Kiss in PUBLIC,if it was not Chuck would be Georgina,me or whoever see them kissing in public and take a pic of them so stop blaming Chuck for everything.
Few episodes ago Dan humiliated Blair the day of her wedding sending the video and what he did next? BLAMED Chuck and let Serena took the fault.
If you want to believe that Dan is all grow up and perfect that fine but stop accusing Chuck for things that Blair and Dan do !!

this is serious? this is what you call journalism? so chuck deserves blair more because he has more money? what dan did at the met actually meant something, it wasn’t just him using his money. and uhm do you not remember chuck is the reason the dowry had to be paid to begin with? he sent the picture of d/b into gossip girl when he knew about the dowry. he dug his own grave. and like someone else said why should she wait around for chuck to turn into a good man when dan already is one? he’s ten times the man chuck could ever be, money doesn’t change that.

Oh, and one more thing. Yes, Chuck shouldn’t have schemed with Georgina, it was wrong. But people seem to be forgetting that Blair was having an affair with Dan, while she was married. Had her & Dan waited, there wouldn’t have been any picture to post. Yes, Chuck deserves some of the blame, but Blair & Dan are not innocent in this.

Chuck was emotionally and physically abusive towards Blair. The Blair from the earlier seasons would never forgive that.
The dowry only needed to be paid because he sold her out to Gossip Girl. Upset that he didn’t get the girl, so what does he do? Lash out. What a surprise.

This article has got to be a parody. One good act doesn’t erase years of hurt. Why does she have to wait around for Chuck to be the kind of man Dan is RIGHT NOW? What, so Blair is Chuck’s prize for changing? And even if he does change into a perfect prince after years of therapy, Blair is still more compatible with Dan – more shared interests, intellectually suited, etc.

compatible? are you joking? watching movies can only get you so far being in a relationship is about loving that person, getting giddy/excited when you are around them, oh and having sex while not intoxicated also helps! Dan and Blair are a joke. They are soooo selfish together. They don’t care about anyone but themselves and that is not Blair. Once upon a time when people loved her she actually had some redeeming qualities. Now, I’m not sure what they are… And if I were you I’d just enjoy what you’re getting because it’s only a matter of time til Chuck and Blair get back together. The ratings are tanking and the amount of hate Dan and Blair get from the general audience is hard to ignore. Just check twitter!

Honey all people need to do is go to Facebook and Twitter to see how few people are liking this story. And honestly? When Chuck tried to boost Blair’s spirit in S3 (3×04) he was trying to make her deal with her REAL LIFE and feel confident in just being Blair Waldorf. Not feed into a silly delusion she should have given up years ago. He said it best in 3×03 “You’re special enough on your own. You don’t need anyone else to tell you that.” Blair doesn’t need cheap tiaras, or titles to defunct royalty to be special.
