um, Chuck is still scheming so its not like he left those days behind once he left high school. In fact his scheming has gotten worse considering he tried to trade her for a hotel and a few episodes back almost ruined Dan’s writing career. Wow, what a changed man. Blair doesn’t trust Chuck and why should she? Whenever his family drama comes up she tries to help and always gets burned. She is happy now; and just because Dan doesn’t have the money to pay her dowry or buy a bunch of extravagant gifts does not mean she should just give up true happiness and get back together with Chuck.

Blair is still a schemer too! Just because she hasn’t schemed recently..doesn’t mean that she still doesn’t like too! “Everyone should play games.” The Blair Waldorf that liked to sneak around people’s backs is still here. & to be honest with you..Chuck’s scheming has gotten better! He’s learned how to tell the truth and face the consequences for his actions. In regards to messing with Dan’s writing career…so what! He fixed it immediately, and he was confused so don’t even start with that! What about Dan’s actions? He is the one who was consistently bashing on Chuck and others for sending the video when it was actually him! -_- In regards to your “happiness” comment, I agree that she does seem to be content with her life AT THIS MOMENT. However, she’ll realize soon (I promise you) that she misses her old lifestyle. She misses being the HBIC, she misses scheming, she misses her friends & minions. Blair will realize this & when she does she’ll figure out that her fairytale with humpty dumpty isn’t what she expected.

Um. Chuck has been more consistently SELFLESS and loving than your precious Donut has been this season. I know you guys have shipper goggles on and are stuck in S3 but let’s get real:
Donut selfishly lied by omission about Louis standing up for Blair in 5×01.
Donut selfishly almost ruined Blair’s shower in 5×08 and was only stopped because of Chuck.
Donut sent in the videotape that humiliated Blair and made Louis get angry and give up on Blair (per the GGWriters Louis was brokenhearted) and then blamed it all on CHUCK.
Oh he’s such a prize. He makes her really happy. In denial land. Per the GGWriters and Safran Blair is lost and not herself now – which is conveniently while she’s with the Donut.

In contrast:
Chuck was the ONLY person that was nice to Donut after the book came out even though Donut trashed him in it.
He cared for drunk, lurvelorn Donut even though he knew Donut wanted the woman Chuck loves.
Chuck encouraged Louis to not leave pregnant Blair over Donut’s book.
Chuck was going to love Blair’s baby as though it was his own and raise it with her.
Chuck stopped the Priest from ruining Blair’s wedding.
Chuck tried to let Blair go in 5×07 so she could be happy with Louis
As the coup de grace Chuck ANONYMOUSLY paid the dowry that would have bankrupted Eleanor. A dowry that never would have been an issue if not for Dan’s emotional manipulation and Blair’s infidelity. He did that to FREE BLAIR so she could be happy, even if it wasn’t with him.
Sorry but your guy LOSE on the issue of who has been the most selfless and loving this season. Oh and to top it off he gets ZERO credit for what he has done while Donut (temporarily) gets the girl.
BTW, if you think Chuck hasn’t changed you need to read Safran’s last interviews. He said Chuck has grown more than any of the other characters. So yeah, Nicole is right – Chuck HAS changed. And he will end up with the woman he loves in the end. Deal with it.

As for happiness:
What did Blair say in 5×10? That Chuck was the one she loved and never wanted to leave?
If not for that car accident and the guilt she felt over it (per STEPHANIE SAVAGE she’s guilt ridden) Blair would have been happy with CHUCK and their baby. Oh and her friendship with Serena would not be in tatters. THANKS DONUT
If Donut was a real friend he would have helped Blair overcome her guilt instead of first manipulating her into marrying Louis (the vows), ruined her chance to have any happiness with Louis by sending in the videotape that made Louis finally give up on Blair (per the GGWriters Louis was brokenhearted by the videotape and that was why he was acting the way he did) and then manipulate Blair into a relationship that almost ruined her family by threatening to withhold his friendship from her if she didn’t comply with his demand that she be his little girlfriend.

Completely agree! Above this, the so-called friendship between Dan and Chuck at the start of the season came off Dan’s intention to use Chuck to find out who Vanessa sent his book to. Sure he gave Monkey to return the favour – but ever since then, everytime he has come to Chuck to ‘hang out’ was to use him because he had nowhere else to go or no one else to hang with. Then to turn around and blame the hen’s night and the wedding on Chuck, not apologising for denying he had feelings for Blair (come on, Bro Code?) … Dan has proven himself to be a bad son, step-son, brother, ex-boyfriend, friend and now boyfriend.

To the Dair fans saying that Chuck hasn’t changed, even the writers have said this! He is a changed man, now get over it.
Also, I think that Blair should have at least thanked him in person, maybe even apologized for her harsh behavior. All he wanted was a friend, someone to give him advice. There was no reason for her to be so hurtful to him.

And Dair fans? Really? You KNOW Nicole is a Chair fan. Why come and read her articles and leave nasty comments? Can’t you just let us be happy in our Chair bubble? Jeez.

“WHY is it SO difficult for Blair to realize that Chuck isn’t the same scheming man he was at Constance?”

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, suuure. He was the reason the dowry had to be payed in the first place. He tried to mess Dan’s career by using another woman as an object, yet again. He forced himself on yet another girl (Blair herself) not even a year ago, claiming she’s “his”. He tried to humiliate Dan at some party because Blair wasn’t ~supposed to kiss him~ after he had seriously dated two women. What are these fans of Chuck smoking?? He is disgusting and abusive. Always was, always will be.

Also, paying some fortune to get a girl out of a situation you helped create, when you’re filthy rich, is not more meaningful than supporting and making said girl happy.

The reason the dowry had to be paid was because of Blair’s infidelity and frankly Donut Humphrey’s emotional manipulation of her. While Chuck was willing to wait Donut gave her an ultimatum even though getting involved with him risked bankrupting Blair’s family. So please Blair and Dan are responsible for this. Not Chuck. And excuse me, NOTHING Donut has done or ever has done will top Chuck ANONYMOUSLY paying what was apparently quite a FORTUNE (since he is no longer liquid) so Blair could have her freedom to choose to love who she wants. Donut isn’t even in the same ballpark. He is getting enormous credit from Blair for everything he’s done so nothing about it is selfless. Moreoever, he’s helped destroy her relationship with the person who until this season she cared about most: Serena. So yeah, Donut is hardly selfless and loving.

… Blair had to pay the dowry because Dan messed things up for her. He sent in the video to Gossip Girl, which hardened Louis’ heart towards Blair (remember earlier in the episode he said he felt incredibly lucky to marry Blair). It’s only because of Dan that her marriage went so poorly and she wanted out, and the fooling around and pushing a relationship onto Blair did NOT help matters.

Chuck’s been an angel in comparison. Sad you can’t see it.

“Chuck’s gesture of paying Blair’s dowry was far more meaningful” so basically what youre saying is that money is a much more important factor when it comes to the terms of love? ok.

Do people actually watch this show? She didn’t want him to pay for it. Chuck does not respect Blair in the least. He hasn’t changed. He is still the same. Selling and buying her off. I’m glad she is happy with someone else.

I can’t believe a woman would write this, must be a conservative that believes women belong in the kitchen. Sorry but selling someone and buying them back is not okay. I don’t care if he was selfless for once in his life, she DOES NOT belong to him. She has the right to love anybody she wants.

When will you get it? it’s not about him being a changed man!!! she’s not waiting for him to become a good person. Her heart belongs to Dan right now! she already told him that Louis, the dowry and Humphrey were not the reason why they weren’t together. Blair doesn’t want to be with him! it’s as simple as that. It has nothing to do with him being a good person. She’s taking a leap of faith and trying something she’s never done before which is following her heart for once. I’m not exactly a shipper I just love Blair and i love when she’s happy. I’ve seen her happy with Chuck maybe 5 times. I don’t think this is the right time for her to be with him. Maybe next season. We’ll see.

I think as a site that prides themselves on their “journalism” you should be a little more neutral in your preferences. Maybe more people would actually care to read and stop of calling you one of the worst news sources on the internet.

Age ain’t nothing but a number for these loved-up A-Listers. My BF and I both think so! He is almost 10 years older than I. We met via ~~Agelessmeet .COM~~ a nice place for younger women and older men, or older women and younger men, to interact with each other! Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends

The fact that Blair had that reaction was amazing. It shows that she still feels something for him because it’s better to hate him than to get close to him.
They will never be safe, their love is all consuming it’s only a matter of time before they’re reunited. Wether the producers want that end result I don’t know but the fans know that chair is most certainly endgame. They were endgame since the pilot.

How were they endgame since pilot? omg don’t even answer that, ridiculous logic. And ‘their love is all consuming’ your saying that like it’s a compliment and a reason why they should be together hahaha, did you know consuming means to eat/ingest something?

The fact that chuck is a changed man its great but dont forget he always treated blair like a queen and he was selfless a lot. Its only external forces thAt mess with them. Blair was the happiest with chuck he made her very confident he did so much for her even before he changed he still cared very much and would do anything for her like dont forget
Her fairytale prom
He made her prom queen
He applied for her to columbia
He helped her with bulimia
He paid that photagrapher to make B more confident
He helped S and B get over their fight and become friends again
He went to germany, france just to get her favourite things
He bought her a ring from her favourite store
He let her go so many times last with louis for her happiness
He saved her from Russel
And list goes on …
So remember he always wanted the best for her and nothing in return

are you kidding me? it was one of the more epic scenes that happened offscreen… like when Donut went to B’s essay competition.

Seriously, why are you people trying to defend one couple or the other? The writing is equally awful on both cases.

She said thank you via text actually..but what i really didn’t like was how rude she was brushing him off when Chuck came for advise about reaching out to her “mother”..She specifically said, “We’ve never been good as friends”, so those years of him helping her scheme against Serena when she came back and even the other times when they weren’t together, she never considered him as a friend?! Her logic now is so off..

I miss the old Blair Waldorf..Where is she?! Please bring her back!

What she meant by saying ‘not good as friends’ because they were always something more. They were/have been romantically/emotionally involved with each other for so long and it
