Lamar Odom Had 'Too Much Drama' For Mavericks

Lamar Odom Leaves Dallas Mavericks

An insider says Lamar Odom’s life issues — like moving, his marriage and his sick father — kept him from playing good basketball, which is why he’s been let go from the Dallas Mavericks!

Lamar Odom shocked the world today when he announced he will not be joining the Dallas Mavericks on the court for the rest of the season, and a source close to the situation revealed the real reason his game has suffered so terribly lately.

“The Mavericks are parting ways with Lamar today. Too much drama, not enough focus on basketball,” an insider told RadarOnline. “He just couldn’t get past all his issues, whatever they may be, and concentrate on playing basketball.”

Not only was Lamar, 32, unexpectedly traded from the Lakers last year, he also had to deal with his ailing father, shoot all the Kardashian reality TV shows AND work through issues with marriage to Khloe Kardashian. However, the source said Khloe, 27, hasn’t gotten in the way of Lamar’s career at all.

“It’s not anything with Khloe,” the insider said. “In fact, she has been the smartest one in his group and has been pushing him hardest to stay focused on his job.”

That said, spoke to a relationship expert who believes Lamar was sick of putting his family aside for basketball and consciously made an effort to be there for his wife and kids, rather than on the road all the time for his job.

What do YOU think happened with Lamar? Did he get inside his head too much or did he sacrifice basketball for his family?

Lamar has to do what Lamar needs to do. Only Lamar can decide what is best for him..If his mind is not in the game, then leave it for a while–try to regroup and if it happens, then it does..if it does not, then it does not..either way- he has a great wife to back him up and a great group of people that support him and that is what he needs now..Good luck and keep you head up..

Kudos to Lamar and Khloe, this is one chic dat has his back,in life we all have problems ups and downs, yes he asked to be traded but not to the Dallas Mavericks,it was never a good fit for him anyway and Mit Kupcheck or what ever his names is knew it,remember Dallas knocked the Lakers out of the playoffs and on the last game there was drama galore, so it kinda just spilled over, Lamar has been a champion before and will be again!

The Mavs are being nice when they let the public think it was a joint decision to release Lamar to inactive duty. They are letting him go out with dignity.

Why didn’t Lamar have all these issues and drama when he was with the Lakers? He had kids then, he had Khloe then, he had a father then….no problems. I’m sure being traded wasn’t that much of a setback for him and didn’t he ASK TO BE TRADED? Something else is going on here and it will come out.

Gosh, I wish I had a job where I made a couple of mil a year. His career as a “professional” basketball player is over and that is exactly what will happen to him, “he will be looked over”! At 32 years of age he didn’t have that many years left as a player and I can see no futher as a coach, etc. Bye-Bye ODOM! I probably won’t wear your perfume either. You sorta stunk up the Mav’s bench!

I Love Khloe and Lamar and Khloe is a wonderful wife and looks as though she stands by her man. I like that she was ready to go whenever or whatever road they were to take when he got traded. I hope Lamar you find your team and play ball until you retire. You are such a good player, but go back when you are ready. Luv KJ in Florida
