Khloe Kardashian, it’s time to give your husband Lamar, all the love and support you can, now that he’s decided to “step away” from the Dallas Mavericks.
Khloe Kardashian – “stepping aside” from the Dallas Mavericks for the rest of the season was a huge, huge decision that Lamar Odom has just made. And it has to have been a tough decision. Lamar wasn’t playing anywhere near the best basketball of his career, but Hollywoodlife.com has heard for the past few weeks that he’s felt torn between basketball and the demands of filming Khloe & Lamar with you, his wife Khloe.
Now, it appears that Lamar, 32, may have decided that his family is more important than his career. “The Kardashians are really the first family he’s ever had in his life and they’re a powerful force,” believes relationship expert Cooper Lawrence, who is the author of the novel, The Yoga Club. “Lamar was raised by his grandmother but she died when he was a teen, his mother died when he was just 12 and his father was a heroin addict.”
Cooper believes that Lamar wasn’t happy dividing his time between his team and his family, especially after being cut from his beloved LA Lakers. “He loves Khloe more than his career and he wants to be around for kids, not on the road. Not having texts sent to him from his kids.” AS well as trying to start a family with Khloe, Lamar also has two children , daughter Destiny, 14 and son, Lamar Jr, 11, with ex-girlfriend Liza Morales. Although his children live in New York City with their mom, both Khloe and Lamar love to spend time with them.
Cooper says Lamar will be much happier, moving back to LA where Khloe’s family is and enjoying the “love and support he never had growing up.”
But Cooper also warns Khloe that Lamar is going to need her unconditional love and support more than ever while he makes his transition from playing professional basketball to whatever his post-BB career is. Fortunately, money will not be an issue for the couple – Lamar’s estimated net worth is between $65 and $95 million.
Psychotherapist Dr. Gilda Carle agrees that Khloe needs to stand by her man and tell Lamar she loves him “no matter what”, because she feels this could be a tough time for the couple.
If Lamar feels that “stepping aside” from the Mavericks is in any way a failure, then he could feel “emasculated,” and he could actually “blame her.” People often blame the person who is closest to them,” points out Dr. Gilda, Today.com’s 30 Second therapist.
Well, let’s hope for both Khloe and Lamar’s sake that Lamar feels totally happy and empowered by his decision and is ready to put his marriage and family first.
There’s one thing for sure that he should know about becoming part of the Kardashian family: life will be an adventure!
