Lamar Odom May Never Play Basketball Again

Lamar Odom Fired

An NBA source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Lamar will have a hard time being traded to another team because of his age, horrible stats and his role on reality TV!

It looks like Lamar Odom has potentially screwed up the rest of his career — and it seems Khloe Kardashian is partially to blame! Earlier today, it was announced that Lamar, 32, will no longer be playing for the Dallas Mavericks. While Lamar’s age and horrible play this past season drastically decreased his value, an NBA source says that the Dallas Mavericks will have a difficult time trading him because of his emotional stability. “Many teams that would have been interested in him previously have now expressed that he will not be a part of their off-season plans,” reveals a source close to the NBA.

“Losing Lamar may be the best thing for the team,” says another source. “Dallas will do much better in the playoffs if they  don’t have to deal with the ‘headache’ of Lamar Odom.  They are sick of answering the Lamar question and want to focus on repeating as World Champions!”

Lamar’s departure from the Mavericks will be immediate, however he will remain listed as “inactive” for the rest of the season instead of being released outright.  Doing so leaves the possibility that the Mavericks could still trade him after the season in conjunction with the draft. Any team that has Lamar on its roster as of June 29 must buy him out of his contract for $2.4 million or otherwise accept responsibility for the full $8.2 million that Lamar is scheduled to earn in the 2012-13 season.

While details of his payday still remain unclear, one thing is for certain: Lamar will not be at Staples Center on April 15th when the Dallas Mavericks face the LA Lakers.

Though Lamar is understandably upset about the news, a source close to Mavericks’ owner, Marc Cuban, says, “He is disappointed, but knows it’s the kind of thing that goes with the job.”

Do you think that Khloe had anything to do with Lamar leaving the Mavericks?

Its called Karma. He betrayed an old friend. His friend needed help with a law issue and he let him sit and rot in jail. As a result his friend will serve 43 years in jail for a crime he couldnt defend himself against, but could have if Lamar would have come through with the money promised for good representation. When Lamar was at UNLV he got into trouble for picking up a prostitute, he ran to his friends mom for comfort and to stay out of the public eye. This women took care of him- emotionally, physically etc. when his grandmother couldnt. When it came time for him to help – he never returned phone calls and flat out lied to the family. Karma gets you when you least expect it!

Lamar has a gift! He was hurt & very, very, very angry! I feel athletes feel an ‘entitlement’ & decided to act like a child and sabotaged his ‘game’ with the Mavericks. This is when his agent, a mentor should of stepped in & be ‘real’ with him!! With the kind of money he makes, he should have had a financial adviser upon being traded. My impression is because he was a Laker, maybe he thought other teams will pick him up. He could of been the bigger person & ‘played a GREAT game with the Mavericks!’ Have ‘I’ll show u attitude’ & do better with the Mavericks. I am not working. I wish I had ‘a gift’ to make ‘that ridiculous money & invest it. Don’t live so lavishly on TV, work with charities! Maybe this will be a wake up call & wish him & Kloe the best.

Of course Khole is responsible along with Mommager.

Khloe and her family, especially Mommager has everything to do with Lamar losing his job. All of this, the nagging, the arguing, etc., it was all part of a bigger plan by Mommager. She wanted them to have problems/issues. Claimed it made for better ratings. Only thing she did not count on was Lamar losing his job, and the problems she has placed in this marriage. These kids need to cut the apron strings, get a new manager and get their lives sorted out

Laqmar will have no trouble finding a team. He is a decorated vet. I say either Clippers, Heat, or Knicks.

What happened to the positive influence the Kardashian women once had on their athletic men? OMG, being with a Kardashian woman today will bring bad karma and too much negative PR.

As I said in my other post, it seem the Mavs let him go with dignity. People think it was Lamar’s decision to be released to the inactive duty but I read Mark Cuban told Lamar he would be released to inactive duty because of his personal issues(not his exact words)

I’m starting to think Khloe nagged at Lamar so much about not wanting to be in Texas, how unhappy she was, blah, blah blah, even though she put on the portrayal of a strong supportive wife, that it got to be too much for him and he couldn’t concentrate. He wanted to please her and do his job but he couldn’t. I could be wrong but we shall see.

I live in the Dallas area and have seen most of the games Odom played in and Coach Carlisle’s news conferences. He defended Odom over and over again. Odom had the backing of the Mavs until they couldn’t make any more excuses. Khloe may feel he wasn’t treated right but he was. The Mavs organization backed him long after the fans stopped.

In contrast to Odom, Delonte West came to Dallas with little money, no place to sleep, many problems including bi-polar illness and yet he plays with all his heart. He says he is playing in a way to let the Mavs know he wants to come back next year. He hasn’t been coddled, nor expected it.

So we had a contrast in the way new players approached the Mavericks. Delonte showed us how it should be done.

I agree with Cuban…he knows what goes with his role as a professional ball player. He acted uninterested in any of the games he actually suited up and played in. I think that sh** eating smerk on his face when the Mav’s played the Laker’s. They should have booted him then. Get over it Odom…the Laker’s just didn’t see a future for you on their team…

this is not khloe’s or the kardashians fault (for once!) the lakers were always willing to trade lamar doom. even though he received their 6th man award last year, he was always one of the first tossed in for trading discussions. jerry buss doesn’t care about loyal lakers, he wants a winning team at any cost. so they cut lamar and that bruised his ego. totally understandable. he loves la and his beloved lakers. now lamar couldn’t get it together enough to make it happen in dallas. sad. hang in there lamar and don’t let influences make you believe its khloe!

Its a shame the way that family took a seemingly humble black man(who appears to only want a true loving family) and made him a ball(less)wuss!!!

I liked Lamar and honestly think that Khloe loves her husband; however, the reality show circus could definitely be a problem. As far as Lamar wanting a loving family, he could start with the children he already has. Wouldn’t that be a nice change of pace!

If Lamar focus on real life than his wife career he will be much better for his teammates. Lamar could you please focus on your career, your wife is fine.. one ? do you want to be a team mate or a husband on court. Concern fan……..
