Anne Hathaway Chops Off Her Hair For 'Les Mis' Role

Anne Hathway Hair

Talk about a transformation! Anne said goodbye to her luscious brown locks for her role in the upcoming movie, ‘Les Miserables.’ What do you think of her shocking new look?

Anne Hathaway, 29, has made some big changes to her appearance to play the role of Fantine, a dying prostitute, in the film adaptation of Les Miserables. Anne is already on a 500-calorie per day diet to drastically change her body – and now she’s cut off almost her entire head of hair!

Her new ‘do is little more than one inch long, so it’s going to take a while before we see Annie’s signature flowing locks again. But we’re sure the major concessions she’s making for her character will be well worth it in the end!

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do you like Anne’s new ‘do?

Was way more concerned about the 500-calorie-per-day diet than anything she did to her hair, which was just a standard pixie cut when groomed. She still looks emaciated today, and she looks a lot older than she is because of it.

She looks touchingly miserable, and it’s great for the new role.

It’s hardly “shocking” is it? The horrors of the Holocaust were shocking, this woman’s cut her hair for a film role. Please calm down.
Anyone familiar with the Les Miz story knows that Fantine sells her hair so it’s hardly a surprise.
@Paul427 I think it’s an incredible demonstration of commitment, integrity and confidence that she’s done it. It shows she’s not that hung up on how she looks… unlike some…
I think it’ll be an interesting experience for Hathaway to lose her hair and reduce her diet. I’m sure it’s hard for her but I’m sure she’ll gain a to from it.
Btw, I never post on these sort of websites but I had to intervene upon this surplus of vanity.

Disgusting look! There must have been some other way that she could be made to look like a shorn basket case without giving up her real and beautiful hair! The look is a loser and the actual shearing off of her hair unnecessary. It will take more than two years for it to grow back in all likelihood, unless of course she uses extensions that can damage her scalp…It wasn’t worth it – A HUGE MISTAKE!!! And to think she went to a club like that?!! Does she have idiots advising her?!
