The Oscar-winning actress dishes in the May issue that she always wanted a family, so she recently adopted a baby boy — ‘The coolest kid ever!’

Charlize Theron shocked fans when she announced last month that she adopted baby Jackson and tells British Vogue: “Jackson is incredible, the greatest gift.” The 2012 May issue cover girl says she’s “always been honest” about wanting a family, so we’re glad her dream came true!

She admits to the mag that her mother, Gerda Theron could not wait to be a grandmother. The 36-year-old hopes to be like her mother and follow in her foot steps. She describes her mom as “fair, tough, loving and supportive.”

“My mom has made it possible for me to be who I am,” Charlize gushes. “Our family is everything. Her greatest skill was encouraging me to find my own person and own independence.” 

So sweet! You’ll be a great mom, Charlize!
