Paddle boarding is a great way to stay in shape, but is it also possible Rob was learning the skill for a new role?
Robert Pattinson may have looked like he was auditioning for a remake of Baywatch when he was spotted on a Malibu, Calif., beach on March 30, but HollywoodLife.com has learned the Breaking Dawn star was likely taking private paddle board lessons! “He’s on a foam-top paddle board, rather than a hard board, [which] are better suited for beginners because they are softer,” says Jay LePlante, manager of Action Water Sports and paddle board instructor.
“Rob looks like he’s learning how to surf with his paddle board and get comfortable with it,” Jay continues.
And here’s something that’s sure to make Kristen Stewart happy: All this paddle boarding is going to make Rob look better than ever!
“Paddle boarding is one of the best exercises you can do, because it’s an all-over body work-out,” Jay explains. “You’re constantly using your legs, arms and stomach muscles. Plus, it’s really fun and you get to connect with nature. It’s one of the best ways to see the wildlife. Dolphins and sea lions will come right up to you. And it’s a lot easier than surfing.”
Jay says paddle boarding lessons typically cost $100 an hour, and a professional paddle board can cost up to $1,800.
Whatever the reason for Rob’s paddle boarding — a work out, a new role, or just a good time — we’re sure it’s worth it!
