Whitney shines in the newly released trailer for ‘Sparkle,’ which wrapped production just three months before the singing legend’s tragic death. Will YOU see ‘Sparkle’ in theaters?
Pop icon Whitney Houston was poised to cement her comeback with the summer release of Sparkle. Sadly, the recently deceased pop icon won’t get the chance to enjoy it. Nevertheless, we couldn’t imagine a more fitting tribute to the late, great singer. Sony has just released the first full-length trailer for the film, which features a smiling — and singing! — Whitney. Watch it after the jump!
Set in Detroit during the Motown era, Sparkle tells the story of a three sisters who form a girl group. Whitney plays their single mother, a washed-out singer who tries to warn her daughters against the perils of fame.
In a sad instance of life imitating art, Whitney’s Emma asks her daughter, “Was my life not a cautionary tale for you?”
Sparkle also stars American Idol winner Jordin Sparks in the title role, as well as The Voice judge Cee Lo Green.
We can’t wait for this movie!
Will YOU see Sparkle in theaters, HollywoodLifers?
