Watch the brand-new ‘True Blood’ trailer & help figure out these (and more) burning questions!
Truebies, rejoice! HBO released our first look at the fifth season of True Blood during Game of Thrones on April 1, and of course, the new footage raises about a million questions for fans to ponder until the show’s June premiere. Complete with a chilling voiceover from a member of the Vampire Authority, the video reveals serious trouble for Sookie (Anna Paquin) and her Bon Temps buddies.
OK, now let’s break this thing down frame-by-frame to figure out what the heck is going on…
1. Sookie digs deep: Considering Sookie totally blew off Debbie’s (Brit Morgan) head on the season finale, I’m not too surprised to see her digging a body-sized hole in her backyard. But is she burying Debbie, or is she preparing Tara (Rutina Wesley) for her vampire transformation? And who’s helping Sookie dig?
2. Scary Terry: Remember when Rene (Michael Raymond-James) warned Arlene (Carrie Preston) about ghosts from Terry’s (Todd Lowe) past coming back to haunt him? It looks like his prediction is already coming true, as Arlene is woken up by a sleepwalking — and creepily wide-eyed — Terry.
3. Jessica and… not Jason: It would appear that Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) are definitely sticking with their open relationship, as Bill’s (Stephen Moyer) baby vamp is seen cozying up to another human.
4. Eric’s mystery lip-lock: Seriously, who is Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) kissing? Is it new vampire Nora (Lucy Griffiths), who’s seen standing beside Eric and Bill in another shot? I still can’t believe Sookie let him slip through her little fairy fingers.
5. Steve Newlin grabs a bite: The quick shot of newly vamped Steve Newlin (Michael McMillan) leaning in to nom on Jason brings one question to mind — why the heck did Jason invite him in?! I’ll assume Steve glamoured him, but knowing Jason’s mind (or lack thereof), I’m sure it wouldn’t have been too difficult to trick him without the use of vampire powers.
6. General Lafayette bad-assery: I’m thinking Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) may not have too much time to mourn Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) before he’s confronted with even more trouble. The shot of him holding a knife has me worried.
