Entertainer of the Year goes to a humble Taylor, while a stunned Miranda wins Album of the Year at the Apr. 1 ceremony.
It was a big night for country darlings Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert at the 47th Academy of Country Music Awards on April 1. 22-year-old Taylor walked away with the coveted Entertainer of the Year award, while 28-year-old Miranda was presented with the prestigious Album of the Year trophy.
“Thank you so much to the fans who voted for this, I am so happy about this,” said the always-modest Taylor, who took home her second consecutive award in that category. “I want to say to my fellow nominees: I respect you so much. I love you.”
Miranda, meanwhile, couldn’t have looked more surprised when her name was called. “Seriously?” she said incredulously. “I own every record in this category and I’ve been thinking ‘Man, I’m not going to get it.’ … I am so thrilled, I will never take this trophy for granted. My albums are my babies.”
We couldn’t be happier for Taylor and Miranda, and we love how they manage to stay down-to-earth despite their fame and success!
