In a new preview for the season five premiere of ‘Giuliana & Bill’, Giuliana shares the devastating news with the most important woman in her life.

Right after finding out she has breast cancer, Giuliana Rancic makes a difficult phone call to her family — read on to find out how she broke the cancer news.

In the preview, Giuliana tells us that her mom and dad had been by her side and knew she was going in for a biopsy, so they were waiting on pins and needles for her call. Having to tell them the outcome they were hoping NOT to hear was “heartbreaking,” she says.

“I was like, ‘Mom, I have breast cancer,’ and I just started falling apart,” Giuliana says. “She was so, so sad. I felt so bad.”

In the immediate aftermath, Giuliana puts her parents’ feelings before her own, and is more concerned with how the news was going to affect them than herself.

“It’s almost as hard as finding out — almost as hard,” she says. “My dad was hysterical. It was very hard on the family.”

Mama and Papa DePandi were the only people Giuliana shared the news with immediately — besides husband Bill Rancic, who couldn’t have been more supportive.

“As a husband, you have to be there to support her,” he says. “Sometimes that means letting them cry, you just gotta cry it out.”
