Despite the show’s long, successful history, Saturday Night Live has just invited its first openly lesbian cast member to join the show!

Meet SNL‘s newest funnygirl! Kate McKinnon, 28, is joining the legendary television show, according to Deadline.com, with a special something no one else has brought to the table yet!

After establishing her funny self on Rosie O’Donnell‘s production “The Big Gay Sketch Show,” Kate McKinnon is bringing her comedic chops to NBC. It is the first time Saturday Night Live has hired an openly gay woman!

Even though the first gay man appeared on the show ten years after it’s premiere, the ladies finally have some representation. Go, Kate! Watch tomorrow March 31 to see if she shows up for her first appearance alongside the night’s sassy host Sofia Vergara!

Are YOU excited to watch Kate on SNL, HollywoodLifers?
