Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart: Don’t Be Afraid To Star In ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’

Thu, March 29, 2012 12:48pm EDT by 51 Comments

Just because you two have been a phenomenal success as Bella and Edward in the ‘Twilight’ series doesn’t mean that you should shy away from co-starring in another to-be-made-for-the-big-screen film trilogy!

Face it Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson you have incredible, intense and yes, hot sexual chemistry onscreen together. So hot in fact, that it has carried over off-screen into a real-life romance.

Now, I know you two probably don’t think you should be linking your careers together so much. You worry you’ll be typecast into “couple” films, and that you will have a hard time building separate careers. Your managers and agents are probably telling you the same thing.

But who says that current conventional wisdom is correct? When a man and a woman have the gift of onscreen chemistry, they have to recognize that it’s a rare gift and they should revel in it – not run away from it. How many other actors and actresses can say, they’ve connected intensely and believably in four hit movies and are heading for a fifth with Breaking Dawn Part 2? I can’t think of ANY today!

To find real live Hollywood couples with onscreen chemistry that provided hit after hit, you have to all the way back to the legendary Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy whose long-term (unmarried) love produced huge hits from 1942 to 1967 in films like Woman of the Year, Adam’s Rib, Pat and Mike, and Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.

Then there were the incomparable Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart, who met on the set of To Have and Have Not and subsequently married and made three more hits.

Rob and Kristen – you can become onscreen romantic legends too and Fifty Shades of Grey would be the perfect and modern vehicle.

It’s perfect for your indie personas. It’s edgy to say the least. In fact, it’s so exotic a book, it borders on porn. And yes, it was absolutely inspired by the Twilight book series but of course taken to a whole new level and minus, vampires, and instead with BDSM, as the obsession.

The fact that it’s inspired by Twilight shouldn’t be a negative for you, Rob and Kristen. Again – you need to buck conventional “industry” wisdom and yes, stick with your Twilight associates. It’s a huge plus with who REALLY matters – your audience. They would die to see you, Rob and Kristen, playing billionaire sexual fetishist, Christian Grey and virgin, recent college grad, Anastasia Steele.

In between all the erotic bondage and control, in Fifty Shades of Grey, there’s a story of intense romance and deepening love. Like Twilight, it’s also at heart a story about dangerous forbidden love. And that’s something audiences yearn for.

As for all the sex. A lot will have to be toned down in any movie but the pair of you have never been afraid of nudity, sexual scenes and raw, edgy subject matter. In fact you thrive on it.

So embrace the opportunity to become a legendary and hit-producing acting couple – you’ll still have highly successful solo careers and surprise your fans by saying yes to the opportunity to star in the upcoming film(s) Fifty Shades of Grey!

I am not ashamed to say that if “edward” plays grey, i will cry until i die. Not saying he’s a bad actor… he’s just not christian grey to me. Kristen however, I can see as a fair Ana, but I think there could be a better choice out there too. However, if she does play Ana (with out “edward”) i will be okay with the choice. I’m just sick of seeing their faces on the big screen together. Part of the reason I won’t watch the twilight movies anymore. Please don’t ruin the Christian character!! I love him in the books (who can’t?) And i feel the persona he has will be lost with robert. In my unproffessional opinion.

Chris Pine hands down and Alexis Bledel or Jennna Dewan Tatum as Ana.ROBERT & KRISTEN already did a huge movie otehrs need to shine. Not only that they do not fit the characters in the book.

Oh please God not them. They did great in Twilight but no. Since i started the book Fifty i always imagined Christian Grey as Ryan Goslling he has that dark side n he is super hot. I didnt thought much about Ana until i saw the movie Mirror Mirror and i saw Lilly Collins and i think that the role was made for her. Unfortunetly Hollywood alway chose the less expected actors and lets be honest this movie will not be easy to do. My humble opinion.

Now regarding Robert…I love him. I honestly think that he’s going to be one of the greats. I do however would love it if he would do more indies and stay away from leading roles for a while. It’s okay he’s a co-star, it will take off some of the pressure from the general public. It would give him time to perfect his craft and become that actor. Twilight was a blessing and curse for his career and he is pushing to prove himself.
I want to see Bel Ami because I don’t listen to critics, I watch and judge for myself. I know what I like and if it’s bad it’s bad but if it’s good and it’s good. The same with Cosmos I will be front and center.

No Karen it’s not that I don’like her it’s just that when an actress/actor take on a role she can’t be selfish and gives selfish performances under the umbrella of being true to herself. The key word is character not “oh let’s call Kristen a different name for several months and film it.” When I read Twilight Bella was selfish, shy, very self critical, she cried when she was angry but she was haedstrong and she loved the crust of Edward. Bella was a rollercoster, and I waited for that to explode off of the screen and it didn’t. I watched Kristen Stewart answer to the name of Bella but never become her.
As I said before she has a great body of work, I have seen all of the movies that she has been in because of her other costars and I love Indies, she’s not the deciding factor. You mentioned WTR and I really wanted to see that one (I will admit). I saw the trailer and I thought to myself finally a character where she has to stretch, she has to go there. By the end of the movie I realized that she just can’t do it.
OTR is one of my favorite books and she said that she has read it over 15 times so she should know the character, which is a real person too. She should be able to move past herself and become Mary Lou.
The Runaways, she looked like Joan, walked like and on the soundtrack she sounded a lot like Joan but the acting, once again she was Kristen being true to herself. I give her an A for effort but she has been in this business too long, around many others that put in the effort to research or find THAT place within the character to know when and where she ends and that character begins.
So will I go and see OTR, SWATH, yes because I am a fan of her co-stars and both of the stories. Will she surprise me,we’ll see but I am not going to count on it.

Hey Lani, thanks for posting back to me ,you had a lot to say lol,and I not being smart, did you know that twilight was a indie movie and no one though it was going to do as well as it did.Thats why New moon and the rest got big time bucks to do the rest of the movies.Bella was the only one brave enough to talk to Edward and she knew there was something different, well I don’t have to go on about about the 1st book, but as each book comes out Bella starts to find herself and she knows she does not have to impress anyone. With New Moon it reminded me of my first break up with my 1st love I thought I’d die but you don’t you go on,so did Bella.Lani I know I must sound like I am obsessed, but I just really like the Twi series,I just think you should give her more of a chance ,after all she is only 21, she reminds me of a young Jodie foster and Angelina Jolie,I just think she needs so really good roles. Now and at the end of BD2 Bella saves her family, friends and wolves lol.and she was never vain through out the whole book series.Peace and prayers to you and yours, also to Rob and Kristen and their families as well and their 4 legged furry family members. To tell you a little about myself I’m am56 mom of 3 grown kids, and 4 beautiful grand babies so I’ve been around, but I must say it is nice chatting with you…Peace….Karen E
