The ’19 Kids and Counting’ mom defends against critics who say having 19 kids is wasteful! She thinks the world needs MORE kids! Do you agree?
In an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Michelle Duggar says she sees nothing wasteful about having a large family in an overpopulated world. ”The idea of overpopulation is not accurate,” Michelle says, because, according to her, the entire population of the world could fit inside the city limits of Jacksonville, Florida.
“I agree with Mother Teresa when she said, ‘to say that there are too many children is like saying there are too many flowers,’” Michelle adds.
She goes on to explain that her family — all 22 of them — are resourceful to help reduce the family’s environmental impact. She says they buy used cars, shop at thrift stores and more. She also brings up other countries whose death rates outnumber their birth rates as a reason there should be more children.
Rather than concentrate on overpopulation, Michelle says “we need to focus on loving people and trying to reach out and make a difference for good in our world.”
Do you agree with Michelle? Or do you think overpopulation is a big issue?
