Chloe Moretz Beat Out Selena Gomez For The Lead Role In 'Carrie'

Chloe may have snagged the lead role of Carrie, but Selena almost got the part!

Chloe Moretz has some big shoes to fill! The 15-year-old Kick-Ass star was offered the lead in Stephen King’s remake of Carrie and she couldn’t be happier!

“Never been so happy in my life! Thank you Kim Pierce and thank u MGM for the chance of a lifetime i will never forget,” she tweeted.

In the film, Chloe will play Carrie White, a telekinetic teenager who turns prom night into a bloodbath after she’s humiliated by the popular kids. Naturally, there was fierce competition for the iconic role, including acting veteran Dakota Fanning.

“Selena Gomez was also considered for the role, but ultimately we went after Chloe,” an industry insider exclusively tells HollywoodLife.com. “We think she would be perfect for the role that made Sissy Spacek an international star!”

why hollywood have the need to do remakes the original suck and the sequel I’m glad selena is not a part on this because remakes don’t make money and the scripts are awful.

I’d prefer Selena. Chloe is too young to play Carrie. Carrie shows her breast (full breast with nipples). Chloe is 15 or 14. That’s not a wise choice for a girl that age to play Chloe. I hope they don’t lower the film to pg-13. I should be a R rated flick. Bloody too! It won’t be the same if they don’t show Carrie’s tits. Selena is a woman now. It’s more reasonable for her to show her tits.
