Is Robert Pattinson Afraid Of Commitment?

Robert Pattinson Career

Hmm! Robert Pattinson sure doesn’t seem to be afraid to show his love to Kristen Stewart, but it seems he’s being a commitment-phobe in another MAJOR way!

The Twilight films have made Robert Pattinson a huge star and earned him $20 million dollars last year alone! Now, he’s one of he most in-demand actors in Hollywood, but if he doesn’t watch out, he could go from hot to cold faster than you’d think.

“Rob has tons of offers pouring in every day, but he won’t commit to anything,” a Los Angeles industry source exclusively tells HollywoodLife.com. “He doesn’t even need to audition for roles anymore because so many directors and producers are eager to work with him. He’s got a built-in fan base.”

Since the trailer of his new flick, Cosmopolis, hit the internet, Rob’s fans (and even his critics!) have been eagerly awaiting the film’s release date. The 25-year-old hunk has been criticized in the past for his acting ability, but Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg thinks that Rob’s performance is going to blow everyone away. “He’s a very serious actor. He wants to be great and takes the trouble to try and be great,” David said. “What he does in [Cosmopolis] will lay that question to rest, which a lot of people who are skeptical of Twilight are asking.”

Despite his popularity with fans and executives alike, Rob is driving himself crazy choosing his next gig. “He’s very calculating. He knows he needs to pick the right project, but his indecisiveness is going to cost him,” the source warns. “The Twilight buzz will wear off eventually, especially now that Hunger Games beat Twilight at the box office. There’s a new group of kids in town. If Rob waits too long to pick his next project, he might get passed over.” Let’s hope not!

What kind of movie do you think Rob should do next HollywoodLifers?

Not another romance. His female fans helped make him, yes, but these fools are going to ruin him because they want to lock him into doing these dumb romances. See how they abandon him whenever he wants to do anything halfway intelligent. His female fanbase totally abandoned him when he did Little Ashes, which was a great little film about Salvador Dali and HIS lover. It was brave of Rob to do it, but his fans pooped all over it. Robert Pattinson has no fanbase. Every time he does a film, it’s like he’s starting over.

Fifty Shades of Grey with Kristen Stewart would change his image as mostly a teen throb. He could exercise his acting skills with Christian’s varying psychological moods.

here we go again

Posted at 9:26 PM on March 26, 2012

Here we go again!!! Why is it so much hype about what the twicast will do next???!!!!! I agree with the comments about quality over quantity…..if an actor/actress does a role more for money than for taking serious what they’re doing in a film, then we as an audience never get fully reeled in by the charcters of the movie. And although THG was a good movie,it did not leave me haning on wanting more. So no i probably won’t see thg again or it’s sequel. I honestly got pulled into the twilight books as well as the movies. I could feel the convictions in their lines. And yes twilight hype will dimmer down outta the limelight just as other franchises have done, but true twilight fans,an true fans of the twicast will support them in whatever roles they choose for themselves. Congrats to the twicast for all their success now and in the future. I wish them all the best!!!

I think Rob will chose a movie that is important to him. I don’t think he cares one way or the other what the media says about him and which movie they think he should chose. He has been working non-stop and needs a break. Everyone I know who went to see all the twilight movies, saw them two and three times. All the people I know who saw Hunger Games only saw it once and have no plans to go back for seconds. Rob draws the people in and he will continue to draw them no matter want does. He is humble and appreciates his fans. So tell your experts to get stuffed.

I agree with you. Rob will choose a project when he’s good and ready–regardless of what the media says. He has said it himself that acting wasn’t his first career choice and he sort’ve fell into it. With someone as humble as him (money doesn’t matter) it’s no wonder why he is taking his sweet time. I am dying to know though, what is his next project–him and Kristen both!!!

I think the only ones with the problem here are Hollywood and similar media circuits along with certain groups. Allow this young, working man a breather. He’s been working non-stop since 2008, people. Any one of us would need the downtime if we were in his place. Let him select his projects the way he sees best. Quality over quantity, folks. That’s the problem with the media and pop culture fans…they don’t see the bigger, longer picture.

I think Hollywood life is just adding to fuel to an annoying flame. The poor man has been working non-stop since 2008. Allow him some time to breathe & relax as I’m sure anyone here would need it if they were in his shoes.
It’s better that he takes his time in selecting what feels right to him as an actor. He’s in it for the long haul, HL. Quality over quantity. That’s the problem with the media and the public today.

No, rob will not be playing Christian Gray. He’s moved on to more intelligent material. Porn is not something Rob will be doing anytime soon so don’t hold your breath.

Don’t be too sure about “new kids in town.” A lot of people liked HG but a lot thought it was over-hyped, won’t see it a 2nd time, and won’t see any of the rest of the movies that are made. However, Lions Gate is starting buzz about more Twilight and that is the ONLY franchise where the studio has expressed a desire for an author to keep writing as they want to make the movies from the books. Rob will do fine whatever he picks.

I think Rob would do well to chose an ensemble mini series like Band of Brothers. He needs to be cast with a group of serious actors in something directed by Tom Hanks or Ron Howard, (who has expressed an interest in working with Rob.) He is not interested in making romcom’s, which would be a natural choice for his vapid fans to swoon over. He likes movies that are edgy, that’s for sure!

I think he is smart to take his time and chose wisely. I hope he makes a move fairly soon though, not because I think he has competition with a young new group of actors so much, but because I am sick of hearing everyone squawking about it!

I agree too! THG target audience was both male and female and barely beat Twilight whose target audience was only female. I think part of what made Twilight so special was the connection between their stars!!! Rob and Kristen together forever!!!

Robert seems like a really smart guy and has made very careful and smart choices so far. I think it is great that he is thinking things through and not just picking any role for the money. Picking the roles for the right reasons for him. He seems to like the smaller indie type films. I am a huge fan of Robs in Twilight and Water for Elephants… I also liked Remember Me. Cosmopolis looks good! He might not be filming right now but he has BD2, Cosmopolis and Bel Ami all this year.
