Barack Obama Slams Rick Santorum For Attacking Malia's Trip To Mexico

Fri, March 23, 2012 12:17pm EDT by 15 Comments

Keep the kids out of it! Rick targeted Barack’s oldest daughter Malia for her recent school trip to Mexico in his latest rage against the president’s administration.

Barack Obama didn’t take too kindly to Rick Santorum‘s recent comments about the father-in-chief’s irresponsible parenting decision to allow Malia to travel to Mexico, NY Daily News reports. “I think that children, for candidate purposes, have always been off-limits in presidential campaigns, and really any campaign,” Stephanie Cutter, the president’s deputy campaign manager, told MSNBC on March 21.

The Republican presidential candidate criticized Barack for allowing Malia to attend a school-sponsored service trip to Mexico, despite recent State Department travel warnings for the country.

“If the administration is saying that it’s not safe to have people down there, then just because you can send 25 Secret Service agents doesn’t mean you should do it. You should set an example. I think that’s what Presidents do,” Rick told conservative radio host Glenn Beck on March 20.

That may be true Rick, but the State Department does NOT have travel warnings for Oaxaca where Malia was helping volunteer at a local orphanage, according to the New York Times.

Volunteering! Oh yes, how dare Barack and Michelle allow their child to take part in such a commendable community service project!

The threat of the ongoing drug-war (or crazy Spring Breakers) wasn’t even the biggest problem Malia faced on her trip. An earthquake hit the area where she and her classmates were staying, but thankfully all were safe and sound.

At the end of the day, Rick tried to use Malia’s trip as credit for his foreign policy experience and it backfired. Here’s a hint Rick: don’t use the president’s kids for your political advantage!

Thanks , I have recently been searching for info approximately this subject for ages and yours is the best I have found out till now. But, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you certain in regards to the source?|What i don’t realize is in truth how you are not really a lot more neatly-favored than you may be right now. You’re very intelligent.

Obama calle out pundits, fellow candidates campaigns and the press back in 2008 about leaving children out of it (he was talking about other candidates children also, Bristol Palin was one of them). So Obama has addressed it before. The republicans only speak out when it affects their side and they only defend their side.

At what point did a politician say anything about Bristol? It was late night comedians who talked about them. Plus, Bristol is very happy when she’s in the news, so let’s not pretend like she doesn’t want attention. She is her mother’s daughter, after all.

It was inappropriate for people to make judgments about Bristol and Sarah Palin with regard to Bristol’s pregnancy. Any decent person, regardless of political affiliation, would agree with that. It is also inappropriate to make comments about the Obama children. Until any of these kids are legal adults and choose to step into the limelight, they should be left alone.

You always hear these people such as Sarah Palin to leave their kids out of things. Yet they are the very people who put their kids in the middle of things. I don’t ever remember hearing the President or his wife say anything bad about any politicans family. None. Why do people insist on doing it to his kids.
