After watching Katy Perry‘s music video for “Part Of Me,” our first thought was, “Wow, the Marines have gotten really clever with their marketing.” Our second thought was, “Wow, this is totally about Russell Brand.” Both are true. In the just-released video, Katy’s character dumps her lying, cheating boyfriend and joins the Marines to toughen up.
We know Katy has denied that “Part Of Me” is about her break up with Russell, but the music video couldn’t be any more telling. Katy’s character is listening to the radio, and a caller complains about her boyfriend always being away — and wasn’t “distance”a major catalyst for their split?)

I think this is amazing. The video subject may be about a guy, it just as easy could have been about anyone that hurts us – parents, friends, bullies.
What I got from this is the amazing Marines that train to defend our freedoms. My friend’s son is being deployed tomorrow morning and leaving his wife and two little girls for months. Thank GOD for his heart.
I also thank GOD for this video to show others just what our service members go through. They all joined for a reason and should be praised for what they do. I’m proud of KP and her honoring of our military.
