Eva Longoria: Why Women & Hispanics Need To Vote To Re-Elect Obama Like I Will

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star put in an appearance on MSNBC’s ‘Andrea Mitchell Reports’ to explain why President Obama’s policies are the only ones that will help women and Hispanics.

Eva Longoria, an outspoken advocate for women’s and Latino rights, sat down with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Mar. 19, where she spoke eloquently about her decision to “engage and mobilize the voters in the Latino community and the women’s community” on behalf of President Obama.

“The election is going to be about choice,” Eva confidently explained. “It’s going to be pretty clear for women who’s on their side regarding their health issues. There is an attack on women’s health care. There’s been so much dismantling of what we’ve accomplished as women by the right side. President Obama’s policies are the only ones that are going to move the agenda for women’s rights forward.”

When discussion turned to the competition, Eva didn’t mince words. “Mitt Romney is probably on the wrong side of every issue pertaining to Latinos – education, the economy, and health care access,” she elaborated. “He’s calling the anti-immigration law from Arizona a model law for the rest of the country. He wants to veto the DREAM (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) Act — that is dangerous for our community.”

Eva also stood up for President Obama. “I know there have been disappointments, but he can’t do it [immigration reform] by himself,” she rightly pointed out. “He’s done what he can while having his hands tied behind his back. He’s proposed changes to keep families together. He’s deporting criminals, not DREAM Act students. The GOP primary has been going on so long, we’ve only heard attacks on his record. We haven’t heard enough about the great things he’s done in his first term. People need to hear it.”
