How Robert Pattinson Will Prove To 'Twilight' Skeptics He's A Great Actor

Robert Pattinson Cosmopolis

Robert Pattinson’s ‘Cosmopolis’ director, David Cronenberg, says Rob is about to show any haters he’s actually an incredible actor!

Ask Twi-hards and they’ll rave about Robert Pattinson‘s acting, but the 25-year-old star definitely has his non-fans out there too. However, David Cronenberg — who directed Rob in his leading role in Cosmopolis — thinks the actor’s performance is so strong, he’ll be respected by even the biggest Twilight critics!

“He’s a very serious actor. He wants to be great and takes the trouble to try and be great,” David told a class at Queens University earlier this week. “What he does in [Cosmopolis] will lay that question to rest, which a lot of people who are skeptical of Twilight are asking.”

We’ve always thought Rob was fantastic, but we still can’t wait to see him in what’s supposed to be his most dynamic role yet when Cosmopolis hits theaters later this year. Do YOU think Rob’s a good actor?

Idk why all the Rob bashing. He nailed Edward in the first Twilight. He wasn’t so good in the rest of them. He talked to slow, it seemed like Edward lost his manliness and acted too weak and almost feminine. BUT….Rob really rocked it in RM and WFE. He was GREAT! Even my boyfriend thought he did a good job in WFE and he didn’t even know who Rob was before that. I bet he rocks Cosmopolis too. As for BA, we’ll see because of the reviews. But I am looking forward to seeing his gorgeous bum!!!

I have seen RP in WFE and Remember me and not one time during those films did i think oh theres that vampire guy.
To me he was exactly the person he was acting to be. I think his acting has improved over the course of all the Twilight films but in the others is where he has shined (no pun intended) I enjoy his other films much more then I enjoyed the runaways.. that film was Boring, I sat there waiting for it to get better and it never did.

To hell with the Twilight critics. If they can’t see past Twilight then they have no scope. The character of Edward Cullen was as dimensional as a cardboard cutout, yet Rob made him seem real while still keeping within the boundaries of what Stephanie Myers had created. Those who have issues with the characters should take it up with her, not the actors, because the films could have been a lot worse. The material from the start was weak, so give credit where credit is due.

Rob is a pro. He was great in Remember Me, great in Water For Elephants; great when there is great material. Edward Cullen is nothing like him in real life, isn’t that what they call acting?
Remember Me is my favorite because of the depth of the characters, and the emotion in the story. I can’t wait to see Bel Ami, and of course, Cosmopolis. Those who don’t think Rob is a good actor must have issue with David Cronenberg too, which is pretty arrogant. Wonder when the last time they made a film was?

Most of the negative criticism towards Pattinson is totally undeserved. In Twilight he captured Edward’s character perfectly: the sadness, the loneliness, the love and Edward’s funny side too. If some people don’t like Twilight that’s one thing but Pattinson’s performance was very good. He was very good in Remember Me and for what we have seen he is forceful in Bel Ami. Ryan Reynold plays the same character every time or plays all characters the same way and is completely overrated compared to the bad rap Pattinson gets all the time.

I totally agree. I also thought he was strong in Water For Elephants as well as Remember Me… And he is totally the perfect Edward! Can’t wait for Cosmopolis!

If David Cronenberg said it so, then who are we to disagree? Can’t wait for Cosmopolis!!
