Skip the green beer this St. Patrick’s Day and sip on one of these festive holiday beverages instead!
St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and if you plan on celebrating Ireland’s patron saint by imbibing alcohol (responsibly, of course), ditch the watered-down beer and try out one of these creative concoctions. Remember to pace yourself HollywoodLifers and eat plenty of traditional Irish fare like corned beef and cabbage — or else you might start seeing leprechauns!
Irish Jack Rose
Ingredients:
1 part Michael Collins Irish Whiskey
1/2 part Calvados
1/2 part fresh lime juice
1/2 part grenadine syrup
Directions:
Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lime wheel float.
Frisky Whiskey
Ingredients:
1 part Michael Collins Irish Whiskey
1/2 part Bärenjäger® Honey Liquor
1 part fresh orange juice
1/4 part simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura® bitters
Directions:
Combine ingredients in an ice-filled shaker and shake well. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice and garnish with an orange twist.
Irish Smash
Ingredients:
2 parts Michael Collins Blended Irish Whiskey
3/4 part simple syrup
8 mint leaves
3 lemon wheels
Directions:
Muddle mint leaves, simple syrup and two lemon wheels in a mixing glass. Add Michael Collins and ice, and shake well. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lemon wheel and a fresh mint sprig.
Irish Blonde
Ingredients:
2 parts Michael Collins Irish Whiskey
3/4 part Orange Curacao
1/4 part Fino Sherry
1 dash Regans Orange Bitters No. 6
Directions:
Combine the ingredients in an ice-filled mixing glass and stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a flammed orange peel.
EFFEN® Cucumber Green Mary
Ingredients:
2 parts EFFEN Cucumber Vodka
4 parts tomatillo sauce
1/2 part Worcestershire sauce
3 dashes Tabasco sauce
4 basil leaves
Pinch of salt
Directions:
Boil Tomatillo sauce for 15 minutes to reduce, blend and cool. In a mixing glass, combine all ingredients with ice and shake. Serve over ice in a highball glass and garnish with a basil leaf.
EFFEN® Cucumber Kiss Me I’m Kiwi
Ingredients:
1 1/2 parts EFFEN Cucumber Vodka
1 1⁄2 parts simple syrup
1 part lemon juice
1 kiwi
Directions:
In a mixing glass, muddle kiwi with lemon juice and simple syrup. Add EFFEN® Cucumber Vodka and ice, and shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a kiwi slice.
EFFEN® Cucumber Irish Minty Kiss
Ingredients:
1 1⁄2 parts EFFEN® Cucumber Vodka
1 part Lemon Juice
1 part Simple Syrup
10 Mint Leaves
Directions:
Blend all ingredients with ice. Serve in a rocks glass. Garnish with a mint spring.
Basil Hayden’s® Irish Julep
Ingredients:
2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
1/2 part DeKuyper® Green Crème de Menthe
1 part half and half
Directions:
Shake all ingredients well with ice. Strain over crushed ice into a highball glass and garnish with a mint sprig.
Harmonie’s Four Leaf Clover
Ingredients:
4-6 mint leaves
2 parts Hpnotiq Harmonie
1 part White Rum
1 part Lime Juice
Directions:
Shake ingredients with ice. Top with soda and a mint sprig.
Harmonie’s Lucky Leprechaun
Ingredients:
4 parts Hpnotiq Harmonie
Splash of Lemon Lime Soda
Directions:
Pour over ice in a rocks glass.
LAVO Shamrocker from LAVO Las Vegas
Ingredients:
1 shot of Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey
1/2 oz Green Creme de Menthe
2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
Directions:
Blend ingredients together and enjoy.
Kiwi Smash
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Vodka
Half a kiwi
3 White grapes
Dash of Cointreau
2 oz CASCAL Crisp White
Directions:
Muddle kiwi and grapes in bottom of mixing glass. Add ice. Pour in vodka and Cointreau and shake hard. Fine strain into a highball glass over ice and top off with CASCAL Crisp White. Garnish with 3 white grapes in a highball glass.
illy Pot o’ Gold
Ingredients:
1 can illy issimo Latte Macchiato
10 fresh raspberries
White Chocolate Sauce
Directions:
Put 2 cups of ice in blender. Add 1 can of illy issimo Latte Macchiato. Add 10 fresh raspberries. Add 35cc White Chocolate Sauce. Blend for 45 seconds until smooth.
The Blarney Stone:
Ingredients:
2 oz Sobieski Bizon Grass Vodka
Apple Juice
Directions:
Pour Sobieski Bizon Grass vodka into a highball glass with ice. Add apple juice. Stir and Serve.
