'Kony 2012' Leader Jason Russell Arrested For Shocking Sexual Misconduct

HollywoodLife.com can confirm Jason Russell — co-founder of Invisible Children — was detained by officials for indecent exposure and allegedly masturbating in San Diego yesterday. Can you believe it?

After doing so much good, Invisible Children co-founder and the man behind “Kony 2012” Jason Russell fell apart emotionally and wound up stripping, reportedly masturbating and vandalizing cars in the streets of San Diego March 15, reports TMZ.

“We detained Jason Russell for indecent exposure at around 3 PM on March 15. One of our officers spoke with him,” Officer Frank Cali exclusively tells HollywoodLife.com.

TMZ reports, “Russell was dancing around the Intersection of Ingraham and Riviera wearing ‘speedo-like underwear’ … and eventually removed the underwear and began to make sexual gestures.”

The CEO of Invisible Children, Ben Keesey, released a statement explaining that the craziness of the last couple weeks, and the wild success of ‘Kony 2012,’ caused Jason to have an emotional breakdown.

“Jason Russell was unfortunately hospitalized yesterday suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition,” he said. “He is now receiving medical care and is focused on getting better. The past two weeks have taken a severe emotional toll on all of us, Jason especially, and that toll manifested itself in an unfortunate incident yesterday.”

“Jason’s passion and his work have done so much to help so many, and we are devastated to see him dealing with this personal health issue. We will always love and support Jason, and we ask that you give his entire family privacy during this difficult time.”

Some people are hypocrites.
So what if they profit off of this, one thing he is doing, he is making awareness of what is going on in the world. Everyone wants to change the world, and make it a better place. Word of mouth is a wonderful thing.
This is just a water drop in the bucket.

The poor guy isn’t just stressing from the fame of his video. Him and a few more volunteers have been working nonstop getting orders ready and shipped out before “cover the night” April 20th. Its a non profit organization so its pretty much just a bunch of volunteers packing shirts and posters all day and night. Thus the reasoning for the dehydration and malnutrition. He’s been working so hard on all this stuff it just finally got to him.

I totally agree. At first I believed the Kony 2012 video. Then I realized they wanted oil in Uganda.

Everyone wants to help these kids in Africa, but the reality of the situation is that this has been going on for years! They kill albino people and feed them to the rich because they think it will provide health benefits. The same government we’re trying to help, is trying to make being ‘gay’ against the law and punishable by DEATH. Furthermore, if it’s not Kony you’d be hunting down, it would be someone else because this is always going to go on. We allegedly sent only about 100 troops to begin with to the Middle East because we were looking for ‘one person.’ Well what the heck are we doing to in Uganda right now? The same thing? I think so. I don’t think anyone is dumb/stupid for following Kony2012, but the reality is the people just want to help. Sorry but it takes a lot more than clicking the ‘like’ button on facebook or watching a thirty minute video. There’s two sides to every story people; The truth is most likely this guy is just a messed up individual. The likely hood of someone slipping a pill in his drink is a lot less than him just being a full blown idiot. “The fame went to my head, sooo uhhhh I know! I’ll vandalize, get naked, and masturbate in the street! Before you want to represent the solving of this issue, go gain some knowledge about the politics, ethics, morals, and religious views of both sides of the argument. Or do as your leader, go masturbate in the street….and make him famous….

Have a swarm of supporters camp at hospital 24/7……Make your presence known! Ensure that J does his 72 hrs and WALKS out……encourage him to retain a lawyer from CCHR in L.A. <——— call Chis asap. They watch the Nazis for foulplay…..and what is happening to J is foul….he was likely slipped something prior to the 'episode'…this was done TO him….it is NOT him….so pls have him say nothing…smile….and Run when they say go. If it goes to 14 or 30 day there is + risk…..come to boise…..where we rockit.

Might be a bipolar episode. The recent events may have sent him into a manic phase. Regardless, this is an illness and we should all respect that he is dealing with a high level of stress. This in no way changes the message of Kony 2012. It just tells us that we are all human.

Maybe “they” have mind manipulated him. Does he have a Psychologist who does hypn-therapy or the like this mixed with stress (or so called medication)anyone can go crazy its actually quite simple to do if your evil enough and have the know how. All such cases should be properly investigated like a murder case and not just say oh he went nuts.

In spite of vandalizing cars, public indecency and public intoxication, he wasn’t arrested – just taken to a hospital for observation. Must be nice being a white guy pretending to fight for African justice – because I have no doubt if he was black, he would still be rotting in a holding cell.
