The almost 40-year-old hears her biological clock ticking and wants to keep the possibility of having another child alive!

Sofia Vergara has no shame about approaching 40, and she’s not giving up on having another child with her boyfriend of a few years, Nick Loeb, reports NY Daily News. Sophia recently told InStyle magazine she is “going to think about freezing my eggs” now that her birthday is around the corner.

Sophia already has a lot of experience in the mothering department. The sassy Latina plays Gloria, mother to her young precocious son Manny (played by Rico Rodriguez), on Modern Family. She’s also a mother off-screen to her 19-year-old son, Manolo.

“I’ve lived a life full of things I never thought I could achieve,” she says of her career thus far. “It takes effort and sacrifice, but why not risk trying to be better?”

Does that risk include raising a baby over 40? We’re sure the extremely strong and confident Sophia can handle it.

“I don’t really care,” she says of reaching the milestone in July to Instyle. “But doesn’t that sound hideous? I remember thinking when my mom was 40 that she was already done.”

We hope Sophia and Nick can share in the birth of their own child soon!
