'X Factor' Finalist Marcus Canty Debuts New Single, But He Doesn't Pull Out All The Stops

X Factor's Marcus Canty New Single

The ‘X Factor’ contestant came in fourth, and I think America made the right decision! Good voice, but the song is a bit boring! Listen here!

Marcus Canty‘s newly released single, “Won’t Make A Fool Out Of You,” is a smooth and sensual R&B ballad, BUT it wasn’t very memorable. I have to give the 21-year-old props because he is talented; he sounds like a combination of Usher and Mario. He would be much more memorable if he sings dance hits, just like his X Factor performance of “Pretty Young Thing” — now that was hot, so step up your game, Marcus!

The single will be on Marcus’s debut album released by Epic Records later this year and the title is yet to be announced. Let’s hope we hear some more upbeat songs Marcus! He has the voice, but he just has to prove he’s worthy of being compared to Usher. He has it in him, so I wanna see it!

Definitely consider that that you stated. Your favourite reason appeared to be on the net the easiest thing to take into accout of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed even as other folks think about worries that they just do not recognise about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , folks can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thank you

This is real Rnb not pop. He was going for an RnB sound. What usher does has turned into pop. For this to be an RnB song it sounds beautiful.

I think the best was very bland and boring but his voice was so beautiful on this song. At the end of the song he hit the notes perfectly. The song is also beautifully written. I just wish that they used a different beat but like I said his voice was beautiful here and powerful. Great job Marcus

I am another one of the FEW that wasn’t feeling it! What difference does it make if the song was recorded for a MOVIE – it’s still boring?? YES Ms. Pagliarulo, he is talented and DOES sound like Usher and Mario. Look forward to hearing other selections on Marcus’ album!!

Well Giovanna, if you had done your research (which every good writer should do before giving their opinion of anything) you would’ve known that this song was written and produced specifically for the soundtrack of the up-coming movie “Think Like A Man.” The theme of the song, the way he sung it and everything else was perfectly tailored for the MOVIE. They were just looking for a special voice to fit the song and that’s where Marcus came in. Marcus delivered the emotion and soulfulness that was needed to give meaning to every written word of that song. We all know that Marcus is capable of singing up-tempo “pop-ish” songs, who can’t? But that quality to breathe feeling into every word of a love song (which the X-factor judges often praised him for) is truly something special. Sorry you weren’t feeling it, you are one of the very few.
