When I was younger I used to be exactly like Shiloh, wearing my brothers clothes and short hair. I used to tell people I wanted to be a boy and I never played with dolls or any girly toys. But now, I think because my family supported me and let me act the way I wanted I just look at it as a phase. People need to stop judging Brad & Angelina for allowing Shiloh to be who she wants to be! I’m now a ‘girly girl’. If Shiloh grows up and still wants to be a boy then let her, It’s her life :-).

I wonder how many people would be as supportive if one of the boys wanted to wear girls’ clothing?

Shiloh is a beautiful girl who will one day be a great beauty…. Nothing wrong with being a tomboy much better than being a little tart

Nobody knows what Shiloh really wants to be in life.

I used to wear boys shorts/pants when I was a kid. I do not even want to play dolls. I get tred of playing with girls my age coz I wanted to play with boys and also play the games that young boys play.

I remember my father was so mad that he even burned my boys “toys” coz he was scared that I would become a tomboy.

But when I reached puberty, everything just changed esp when I started having my period.

Now I am a full housewife.

Im sure Angelina and Brad arent making her like that, they’re letting her be herself & I love it!! My kids dress themselves & sometimes they pick the weirdest outfits but they’re being themselves. People need to stop judging, let our children be who they want because what I tell my kids you shouldnt be ashame of who you are or want to be. There will always be haters & judgers. People juding this little girl are cruel & we’re talking about bullying on how bad it is, lets be grown ups and stop this stupid media attention on juding people. Brad and Ange, you’re children look so happy may God keep blessing them more and more every day.

I love Shiloh and her stile
She remindes me of my childhood, I was just like her…short hair, jeans, snickers, I just wanted to be one of the boys, like my brother and my cousins…everybody thought I was a boy and I loved it.
I’m just like any other woman today, but even if I turned out to be lesbian or transgendered I don’t see whats the problem with that?
I had a beautiful childhood and no one ever told me that I should be something that I’m not.
People that are making stupid comments below don’t know anything about children and are self centered and are probably over controlling their kids…

Angelina should be ashamed of herself confusing that poor lil girl like that. Kids need structure and guidance you dont let a child decide you instill whats normal and natural and what happens when they group up is on them. Dressing her like a boy is bad enough but cutting her hair like one is another. She doesnt know any better and Angelina is mentally sick we all know that!!!

If something is “normal” or “natural”, why would you have to instill it?

Kids should be allowed to experiment with their style. So what if she decides that she would rather be a boy or if she’s lesbian or bi. It’s her decision and no one has a right to change that. Think about this…How many famous people have you heard about who are gay or bi or trans?
Alot.
And what’s wrong with a little girl dressing up?
Where I live we have school days where girls are encouraged to dress like boys and boys like girls.
By the time she’s old enough to make her own decision about this, this will be socially accepted.

I think you are the ones confused!

When I was a kid I was like Shiloh, my father was so scared that even burned my boys “toys” and warned me not to play with boys. But I don’t like dolls nor play with girls.

I was super active. I want to be always running around not sitting around.

But as I grow older, everything changed.

I am a happily married housewife and I would say I had a happy childhood coz I did everything that I wanted to do even if my father tried to stop me.

Shiloh, should be dressed as the little girl that she is…it’s o.k. for her to have her own style however, she should know that her brothers dress the way they do because they are guys, and she is not a guy.

If someone who is “ugly” thinks that they are good looking, then they are good looking. If Shiloh thinks that she is a guy, then she is a guy.

homestly people it’s just clothes. I dressed like a boy until sixth grade. I only did it because I hung out with boys ALL the time and I knew nothing else. I have sisters who wore dresses and pretty shoes, but at the time, I just thought boys clothes were more fitting for my sporty and freespirited lifestyle. She has 3 brothers, she probably see’s them and just wants to emulate them, and I bet she is comfortable as heck. When you just want to run around and have fun, a dress and sparkly shoes are not the most comfortable things to do it in. She will probably grow out of it, as I did, but for now she is a young kid and she is just enjoying herself…leave her alone.

So stupid for a parent to encourage this behavior; it started when child was young enough to be encouraged otherwise. Will have difficulty over this behavior, especially as she gets older. Cher didn’t push her child into his future, he chose this when he was an adult, but appears as if these parents are; mom should know better. So sad for the child; it’s a parents responsibility to help form a child in every way when so young; that decision should come much later if so chosen by child; frankly absurd. I think this to be a regret when they see the pain which will be inflicted by others in the teen years; she will see the stares in a different way at that time and all I can say is ‘Poor child’.

I REALLY DISLIKE Angelina Jolie but I say let the kid wear what she wants. No one would say anything if she wore a tutu, tiara, & cowboy boots. As long as she isnt being forced what’s the problem.

Marcus, maybe if you had a life you wouldnt be commenting on my post. I have an opinion and I happen to follow the Jolie-Pitts. Angelina in interviews comes off somewhat eccentric. This little girl has been dressed up boyish since before she even could have the sense to choose for herself. Think PINK Angelina!

Really Shelly? you think she picked ONE of her girls to dress like a boy? Like she was like eenie-meenie-miney-mo youre it Shiloh haha you are going to be a thought experiment for me and the world bahahahaha! really? Three girls and only one dresses more like a “tom boy” while the two others are “girly”? Three boys and none dress more like a girl? No forcing one of them to dress like girls?

no, because she isn’t planning that, and didn’t plan that, eccentric or not.
Shiloh dresses the way that she dresses because her parents are open minded enough to let her dress that way and dont try to impose gender roles on her. Raising kids is hard enough as it is, and then you throw in the added twist of gender identification and potential differences from the sex that child was born, and you have added to the equation billions of unforeseen and difficult to plan for variables that make parenting harder and make growing up as that child (should she be transgendered) harder. And its people like you, with your narrow minded, negative, judgmental approach that make it that way.

Get a clue.

“Poor little girl”? She looks happy to me. I am sure she lets her other girls dress they way that they choose as well seeing they have the same mother. If the other girls can choose what to wear, why can’t Shiloh?

Why do they keep dressing this little girl to look llike a boy??? she already has her fathers features. As she gets older it’s going to bother her like most girls with their fathers features looking like a guy….yea, not my child..but we can all give an opion. Just hope she doesn’t have image problems growing up.

my children are grown with a history of no major issues. I see mental health patients everyday with issues that often have been created by ignorant parents who have allowed their children to do as they please; we as parents are parents for a reason. I just feel sad for this child, knowing what pain her future may hold.

hey, good on you Beth. I think that kid might be pushed a bit in that direction. When I was a kid, I loved dressing messy and didn’treally wear pretty clothes and stuff–but my parents still kept my hair long and made me wear dresses to graduations…All I can say is, kids should have freedom–but not too much. Shiloh has too much. Poor girl.

Who the hell cares how Shiloh dresses?? She’s 5!!!!!!! It’s absolutely ridiculous that we try to conform our children into what society thinks they should look and act like when what we should be doing is allowing them to figure it out for themselves. I think it’s great that Angelina and Brad are allowing their kids the freedom to be themselves and props to them for not caving into what everybody else wants.

Thankfully, what you want for her is not relative. You’re not her parent. Shiloh has the right to dress however she wants. If she wants to dress like a boy, so be it! She may grow out of it, she may not. She seems like a VERY happy child, so that’s what matters. Look at that smile! She’s precious.
