The pop queen opens up and says she feels like her head is going to explode from the stress of being a single mom!
Although Madonna seems like she has a tough exterior, the 53-year-old singer admits she’s been struggling since her split with Guy Ritchie, 43, in 2008! “I’m not going to lie — it’s hard work having four kids and doing all the work I do,” she admits in a new interview with The Sun.
Madonna is mom to four kids — Lourdes, 15, Rocco, 12, David, 6, and Mercy, 5 — and she is trying her best to juggle motherhood and a career.
“Everybody has something to say about the way I live my life,” she says. “At the end of the day I’m doing my best. If people don’t like it, then that’s really their problem.”
It’s been four years since her divorce with Guy, but Madonna admits it’s still difficult. “Sometimes I cope with it very well, sometimes it’s a struggle.”
Madonna used her struggles as a single mom as inspiration for songs on her upcoming album, MDNA. “[The song I Don't Give A] is about the life of a single mother,” she explains. “It’s a challenge juggling everything — multi-tasking is my middle name. I try to express that.”
She hopes the new music will inspire other single moms. “I hope I’m a role model,” she says. “I hope I give other girls a voice… someone to look up to and admire. I keep rolling with the punches and trying to have integrity. I hope I inspire women and give them strength to deal with life no matter what comes their way.”
